Meyer, Meyer pants on fire?

  • HELLO AGAIN, Guest! We are back, live! We're still doing some troubleshooting and maintenance to fix a few remaining issues but everything looks stable now (except front page which we're working on over next day or two)

Thanks for your patience and support! MUCH appreciated! --Brett (BamaNation)

if you see any problems - please post them in the Troubleshooting board!

I believe the fans in orange are trying to deflect attention from wonder boy with digging things up like this. CUM has proven himself unlike wonder boy. If you are coming on here to rally the Bama fans against UM I am afraid you are wrong. Bama fans have a hatred toward UcheaT because of Phat Phil and now wonderboy has continued it on.

The comments about denying interest in Florida. What does any reasonable person believe he is going to say? Utah or Florida? Come on get real, anyone that has watched college football knows Florida is one of the top jobs in the country where Utah is only watched at the end of the year.

Excellent post BamaGoose. I could not have said it any better.

Most Bama fans have nothing against Florida or Meyer. We don't like losing to them, and there is a mini-rivalry when we play each other. That soon dissipates once the game is over.

Tennessee on the other hand. We dislike you 24/7/365. No reason to elaborate, as it's well known as to why.

So, save the Meyer bashing for the proper boards, yours. And, if we ever feel the need to bash him, we don't need Tennessee's help in doing so.

Wow....no one is even amused at Urban Legend...if you have read any of my posts, you will have not tried to turn anything away from CLK. As matter of fact, I have agreed with a lot of what has been posted about him.

Obviously you guys looked at my name and think I am here to just bash Meyer. I think he is a great coach. Found the link and thought I would post it here for others to see.

Read my previous posts then get back to me on how all I am trying to do turn you guys against Meyer!

Remember vf1,you're a guest here. I don't know of ANY vol boards that would allow as much crimson window dressing as you are puke orange here! Perhaps a "side chat" with poster Tennessee might enlighten you.

Coaches always get dumped on when they leave one coaching job for another. But, Meyer left UTAH (ahem, UTAH) for Florida. I think that was a BIG LEAP for him. It wasn't like he took a lateral move in his career or anything.

Most of those posts were like "sour grapes" and old "sour grapes" at that. Which would make that - vinegar?

Meyer is a great coach. Alabama plays Florida reguarly, on a rotating basis. We plan to play them every year in the SEC Championship game. Bama isn't scared of Florida, we've beaten them plenty - beaten them twice in one year....there's nothing mystical about Meyer.

But, we're not going to bash Meyer here. In fact, I don't feel we've bashed UT's coach here. We've just posted what he's said and done. He's pretty much made a fool of himself. We just pointed that out.

Sorry....bad topic name :)

Came across this link a few minutes ago. Do any coaches totally tell the truth?

Some of the stuff UM has said. I don't think he made Utah fans happy.

Well, to me this is a lame attempt to justify, Kiffy-Kins calling Meyer a cheater. First of all every coach in the country will bend the truth as far as leaving the school he is presently at to coach at another. Let us just say what if, what if Meyer said, "yeah I am very interested in the UF job, the talent level is better there, the recruiting base is better, athletic budget is better and I get to coach in the mighty SEC and make a name for myself."

Then he decides to stay at Utah, well he has just killed his recruiting, made all the boosters and fans mad, basically made a mockery of the school he is presently at.

There is no good way to say I am interested in another school when you are presently coaching at one.

Denying interest in another school is not even in the ball park, heck not even in the same state as, "Urban Meyer is a cheat"

Come on it is time for the UcheaT fans to MAN-UP and admit, their coach is unproven, his track record is terrible and he acts like a 15 year old.

We poke a lot of fun at St Urban and his apostle Tim Tebow, we poked a lot of fun at Wingnut "Ears" Tubbersnout and Houston Nuts. Leslie Miles gets his share of heat from our fans but Fullmer garnered genuine hate from our fan base. Fullmer, Tom Cullpepper, a couple of UT board of trustee members and some high level UT boosters almost destroyed Alabama football. We will be a loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooog time forgetting that. That fat, lying piece of garbage could cure cancer, fix the American economy and end all wars and I would still despise him and all those who backed him. End of rant. I don't expect Lane Kiffin to be more than another Bill Battle with attitude at Tennessee but VolFan you are entertaining. ;)

The more pressing question: Why is Utah's fan base still crying because their coach left for a BCS powerhouse?

Utah will never win a national championship as long as they play in a mid-major conference. Meyer's been at Florida three years, and won two championships in that time.

As to the "liar liar" stuff, only UT fans are oblivious to the total classless and amateurish stunt that Coach Kiffin pulled last week.

Only because they don't live here. I hate florida as much as I do UcheaT. Try living here and listening to the gators bash all things Bama and our beloved Coach Saban...or as he is known in the Tampa Tribune, "Coach Satan." florida's jort wearing set are as irritating as the hillbillies, plain and simple.

This is a good testimony for why Saban doesn't allow assistants to address the media. Saban knows all too well how the media likes to put you into a corner.

Darned if you do:
If you say "Yes, I'm looking into other possibilities to advance my career, and do what's best for my family and myself.", the media will pulverize you for disloyalty. If you do not get hired somewhere else, you then lose any recruiting ability at your current location, and your boss is unhappy with you.

Darned if you don't:
If you say "I am currently happy where I am and hope to stay a long time.", and you are then offered a lucrative offer that you decide is best for your career and for your family, you are maligned as a liar.

And forget about ignoring the question. They will keep asking until you address it, one way or another.

The coaching world is different now. Constantly changing. Good coaches will be fired if the BOTs and boosters don't get what they want, e.g. Slocum, Cutcliffe (still scrathing my head over that one), or even Tuberville.

And lastly, we as Bama fans have no real cause to throw stones here. Saban's comments in his last days at Miami will follow him. Our rivals won't ever let that go. Tennessee took Thompson, we took Willis. It is how coaching these days is. I don't see it changing anytime soon. It is what it is.

RTR!

I was in Tampa, Florida during the hard times for UF. Guess that's why I can't really ever hate em'.

Went to Robinson Sr High School btw.

Urban Meyer is definitely not Mr. Honesty, but he is also not running around blatantly calling out other SEC coaches in public and running his mouth like an idiot. From what I can tell, Urban Meyer has mostly kept his mouth shut and let his team do the talking by their play on the field. Kiffinhawk would be well advised to do the same.

Regardless of the tenor of your previous posts, the intent of your initial post is patently clear to anyone with half a brain. You're simply trying to do a little damage control to deflect attention away from the moronic ravings of your new kiddie HC. It won't work and it's pretty insulting to our intelligence for you to even think it would.
