Mike Ford

Given the injury and depth situation we have at RB, I don't see how these young men couldn't have the motivation to bust their butts to get the needed score to come in and compete for immediate playing time. Good job for Ford.

the 20 hasn't been confirmed or denied at this point......a poster on another board claimed to have spoken to his mother and she said he made a 20. His HS coach who is very involved in his academics, says he still needs ACT work-- regarding back to his 16 on the ACT, previously.

BOL did an interview with the coach and he said that he hasn't even had time to work out, he's been so busy with school. He still needs to pass a class that he previously had failed and is in good shape with classes this semester. That being said, the coach predicted is GPA to get up to 2.6 or 2.7-- therefore, a 16 would qualify him anyway.....

wow, hope that made sense!

Sounds like good news either way!

Sounds like Mr. Ford is plenty intelligent enough to make the grade but almost waited a little late to start applying the ample ability that he obviously possesses.

Looking forward to seeing him this fall applying the same hard work at the University of Alabama.

Boy, this is getting exciting. Darby, Castille, Ford, and possibly Upchurch in the backfield along with Brodie and what is looking like a capable backup, and the TE question looking better, things are really looking up. We'll probably struggle at OLine for 2005, but I think we can still move the ball. And the kicking game didn't look too bad on Saturday at all, better than I thought they would do. I didn't get to see the pregame work, but I liked what I saw. I hadn't heard of Saxby before. I don't think the defense brought their A game, but I have no doubt they will show up in force come next fall. I can't wait to see Ford in crimson.

How many are in danger for this year's class?
Is Upchurch ok?

we have to reiterate that none are "safe" until they graduate and every test has been passed, but these are who were/are THOUGHT to need a little help GPA/ACT wise:

Prince Hall, Mike Ford, Roy Upchurch, Sam Burnthall, Antonio Forbes, Michael Ricks, and Desmond Jennings (who we don't expect to see in Crimson)

What? I thought Dave Radar said it would be a longshot?

I'm not sure if your refering to my earlier post about some of the RBs situation. As I said in my post I was simply asking about what I heard at the A-Day game. I never heard it from Dave Radar, and sincerly hope that all of our recruits are eligible. I would much rather have to work to figure out who is going to have to wait to get in.

I hope Mike Ford did make a 20 on his ACT

But, I'll be willing to wager that's an automatic red flag for the ncaa, especially in light of their "affection" for UA. I'm also thinking a certain Alabama-obsessed coach in TN is going to bend the ncaa's ear about that ACT score if it is true.
