Most successful Bama coach? (Post-Bryant)

  • Hi Guest, we are working on updating the site servers and software. We're also 'forcing' everyone to read and agree to our site privacy policy and terms of service. There are no significant changes to either of these but the terms page does clarify a few things that are mostly in the legalese. You can just click the checkbox for both and continue using the site as usual! We'll update you more on the site upgrades VERY soon! THANK YOU AS ALWAYS for supporting the site and being an active participant!

I think Perkins would have done better if he hadn't have been the one right after Bryant. That was alot of pressure IMO. But, that was 20+ years ago and we got Saban now so who cares.

A more interesting discussion might be who was the 2nd most successful post-Bryant coach.

Perkins 8-4, 5-6, 9-2-1, 10-3 No SEC championships, 2-2 vs Auburn
Curry 7-5, 9-3, 10-2 One SEC championship, 0-3 vs Auburn
Dubose 4-7, 7-5, 10-3, 3-8 One SEC championship, 2-2 vs Auburn
Franchione 7-5, 10-3 One SEC West championship, 1-1 vs Auburn
Shula 4-9, 6-6, 10-2, 6-6 No SEC titles, 0-4 vs Auburn

Who is best out of this group?
Mike Price...never lost a game!:p_wink:
