Man I love Alabama but if you offered me $5 million to come play college ball when I was 18-19 yrs old, I think I would be out the door with my "Suns Out Guns Out" tank top on.
That number doesn’t bother me. Bama has 70 active players on NFL rosters. The highest number ever.
We've already discussed this ad nauseam...for the last 30 years or more teams lose an average of 8-10 players out of each class for one reason or another...nothing really going on here but young men being young men.
we need to quit worrying about the transfer portal.... what Alabama needs to do is develop players...not only the first string....but the second and third string as well...keep people on this team!... with the recruiting we get we should have committees playing every game not just starters...
I’ll try to find the article again, but it was estimated that 50% or less of signing class (several years back so pretty sure based on a 25 scholarship limit) had a significant impact in terms of playing time by the time they reached the end of their eligibility.
I can’t recall exactly have how “significant” was defined, but I do recall that if you had 10 or more out a class that were starters/role players by the time they were seniors, you were doing pretty well.
I kind of went back and glanced at some of our previous classes over the years (with the exception of the 2017 class - man that class was unreal) that seems about right.

Like it or not, Transfer portal is a major factor for all programs going forward... so yes, we need to worry about portal... Developing players means little these days... It's win now or go home.
to be fair, This number includes walk-ons. It's little skewed.
As of late we have got some misses...Gibbs and Williams we good...but one and dones are for hoops imho
Who was the miss at Transfer? I think I know who you were talking about. just wanna hear it.
It`s almost like if a player is not a major contributor by year 2, he`s in the portal. I have no stats to back that up, it just seems that way . It would be interesting to know the class designation for the majority of players that enter the portal.
Ricks performed very well when he finally got on the field. Not sure why you are posting so negatively lately, but hope that you are okay.
