I still think we make the playoffs. Hopefully, and thankfully, they’ll look at things objectively and not off emotion and make the right decision.

Still, we can’t blame anyone if we don’t make it.
I appreciate your optimism but if they had looked at things objectively to this point SMU wouldn’t have been at #8 going in to this game. We’re out.

South Alabama
Again… you beat Oklahoma or Tennessee then in all likelihood the ACC championship never matters and you maybe looking at a first round bye with how bad Texas has been. But now it’s going to be 12 and a half hours of sweating a result of a game between two mediocre teams.

Honestly I’m where I was 2 weeks ago. If we get in then yay but if not then it’s whatever. This isn’t one of the teams I’m super passionate about getting in, but with all the bad 2 loss teams living off cake schedules I don’t think the claim to get in is unwarranted.

If I were to guess… it’s just hard to ignore how the ACCCG ended to feel really good about Alabama’s chances. It’s probably best to get ready for next season.

Wow you guys are super doom and gloom. I still think we have a better than even chance of getting in. SMU has played nobody. But if we don’t get in, the team has only themselves to blame for 2 absolutely inexcusable losses. Maybe they’ll learn that every game is important and nobody cares about your personal stats.
I agree that SMU has played a weak schedule, and the same logic that has Alabama ahead of Miami applies, but I think the CFP committee will vote to not "punish" a conference championship game participant and keep SMU in.

Probably at 35k or in an airport somewhere
…But they will have lied again one way or another.

They said Idle teams won't drop AND that a CG loser won't drop.

They will have mislead people on one of those points.
That’s not what they said. Rather, they said:

Conference title game losers would t be unduly punished. No one not on the committee knows for sure what that means.

Last week’s rankings of idle teams were solid for those teams relative to each other, not that their numerical spot was solid.
