A mixed picture for Northview last week. They are now assured of having a losing season, even if they run the table. On the bright side, they did manage to score 14 last week. For Dubose that probably seems like a win.

Northview used to have a pretty competetive program, and actually sent a good many players on to play at the collegiate level. Former Auburn backup QB and current Toronto Blue Jays minor leaguer Gabe Gross was a Northview graduate. However, the past couple seasons have been absolutely dismal, and it was rumored that the complete disbanding of the program was considered prior to the hiring of Dubose. We all know what a terrible coach Dubose is to begin with, but when you only give him minimal talent to work with at the highest level of competition, his already remote chances of success become nil. Northview will likely finish the season without a win. They are simply incapable of beating any of their remaining opponents. I guess you have to credit Dubose for trying to do what he can to build this program back to where it was a few years ago, because he is going to lose a lot of games before he wins any, and the more he loses, the more susceptible he will be to criticism and humiliation. Before Northview, Carver in Montgomery was considered the worst 6A football program, but the lowly Wolverines ended that streak when they shutout Northview in the season opener. Yep, it's going to be quite a while before this team becomes competetive again. They probably couldn't contend at the 3A level right now.
