Ref's were giving it to Kentucky. However, we made mistakes 2.

I did not like the Ref's because Julio would have gotten two catches if it weren't for some stupid calls by the Kentucky line judge.

I would not think some of the holding calls were correct either. Also the whole punt that javier was on that it fair caught. That should have been a call. Kentucky guy impeded his catch.

Anyway, we did make very bad mistakes on our part. Focus men Focus.

That is just my two cents.

Horrible officiating, poor play by the team, but we won. And just like the Tulane game, I'm not sure we would win this one last year. That's about the only positive I can say, other than this kind of play should keep us grounded for Ole Miss in two weeks.

Whew!!! UK hung around a lot longer than expected.. Bama was flat today. I could see it in the first quarter. Glad we got a bye coming up so the guys can re-focus and rest up. RTR.

( The zebras were tearing us up today):mad2:

I agree, those were critical calls that did not go in our favor, but if we execute better than we did and don't commit unforced errors(Coffee putting the ball on the ground in first half deep inside UK territory/Tiffin's missed fg's/blown coverage at the end on the cheap last UK td) we still should have won by more than 20 points.

First of all, I did not get to watch the game because of work. My son updated me throughout the day. After reading all the posts to this point, we need to settle down. 6-0 is nothing to sneeze at and is an accomplishment to this point with this team. Did we expect 6-0 before the season? Honestly, I did not but take it of course. I have the utmost faith in the staff and players. You cannot play perfect dominating games every week. That time has passed. Whatever the cause was today, we are still Bama and 6-0...anyone who is not happy with this can jump off the bandwagon now. No need to complain but let's take the week off and rehab and reload.

I looked at that play 4 times in the 2nd half (Julio offensive interference) call and could not see it. A few plays later when Kentucky was driving and one of our defensive backs almost picked off a receiver, their receiver was on top of the db pulling his facemask backwards with a ref in the vicinity.

Weve played 6 games.... 3 conference games... and 2 teams ranked in the top ten when we played them.... we are 6-0...WE HAVE NOT TRAILED IN A GAME YET!!!!!!! I dont see the need for doom and gloom quite yet.

Sometimes you've just gotta win some ugly games. We're 6-0, with room for improvement, but still 6-0 nonetheless. I'm quite sure UGA, UF, AU, and others would gladly take that right now.

Rev, it was probably less painful to hear about. Watching it was tough because of the types of mistakes that were made. I give Kentucky all the credit in the world, but many of our errors were unforced and that is what has everyone disappointed. I don't think anyone is ready to cancel the rest of the season as they were about 2 years ago. I feel like we can win out, I just think we didn't perform well today. However; a win is a win is a win!

1. JPW is a rhythm QB. Kentucky never let him get into a rhythm. He mad a number of good throws that just didn't work out--either well defended or nullified by idiot officiating.

2. CJM never got into a good playcalling rhythm like he did against Georgia. How many times did we get 8 yards on first down only to lose three yards on 2nd down?

3. My guess is that Glen Coffee will be SEC offensive player of the Week, but will be too exhausted from ball security drills to really enjoy it.

4. The defense played well, with only a few mental lapses.

5. Bottom line is that we're 6-0. CNS will take a few days to regroup, and then start working on Ole Miss--and that's a team that we KNOW will not go down without a fight.

We got some horrible calls, but did not help ourselves with some untimely turnovers and miss FG.
Yeah the good old SEC refs really lived up to their reputations today. There were several that I just scratched my head on, especially the formation penalty in the 1rst half.

As for the game, Coffee is a horse, despite the fumbles. He won this game for us on Offense and I can't say enough about our D. We just went braindead on that TD in their last drive.

Bottom line, we played a salty Kentucky team on a down night that were full of self-inflicted mistakes.

Nice post and I totally agree on your first two points.

I also thought this was the first time that Mark Ingram looked like a freshman. As soon as Gary Danielson (who I thought did the best job I've heard him do during a Bama game) complimented his ability to cut laterally, Ingram started to get happy feet and got stuffed at least twice trying to make one too many cuts.

I know Coffee was playing very well in the 4th, but why didn't we see the rotation with Ingrahm and Upchurch. Coffee looked tired on the play when he fumble and God smilled on us by letting it go out of bounds.

Ingram tweaked his ankle (I believe) last week, so that's probably why he wasn't in more. I don't know why Roy wasn't in more except that Coffee was just on fire, so why not use him. Grant hasn't contributed much at all the past couple of weeks. It's odd that CNS says "we have three good running backs." That makes me think that Grant either is in the doghouse or just can't hang with what they need him to do except in very select situations.

I agree with you on this but one thing about Coffee is that yeh he fumbled the ball but take in consideration how many times he carried the ball on that drive.. My guess is that he was tired yes its no excuse but IMO he was tird and got a little sloppy holding the ball. Roll Tide and good post :BigA:

This game reminds me of Larry Holmes versus Tex Cobb. Holmes was quoted after the fight that there will be no rematch, my hands can't take the punishment.
