From the 10:26 to 4:49 mark we had a 21-3 run which was good enough to win the game. The other 35 minutes were just mediocre, and frustrating. Still, a terrific 2nd half from Q and Miles.

I don't know if Shackelford just had a bad game and got mentally down or if he was sick. He looked ill when he was sitting on the bench.

Ellis had a double-double and looks like he found his shot again (beginning partway through the Memphis game).

Quinnerly owned the 2nd half though it was frustrating watching him miss the front end of 2 one-and-one's. That was a potential 4-points that would have left a little more buffer in Bama's lead.

The UT- Memphis game was postponed because of COVID issues with Memphis?

Hey y’all. Did not have a chance to post before now. One thing that I’ve noticed teams starting to do is flashing to the opposite side wing or corner player when the guard moves into the lane. I saw it happen with both Q and Davison.

Some of the turnover issues are because there were players in the passing lanes while they were in the air or under the basket. This is just a simple adjustment that the team can make, to help the guard determine who is open when that happens. They were a well coached opponent. We played mediocre, outside of Ellis,

I’ll take it.

Tough game to watch. When your leader scoring (19 a game) doesn't score it doesn't help.

Three big issues we've got to get corrected moving forward:

1. Defensive rebounding is becoming a liability! Got to get more effort in this department...speaking of effort...

2. Our defensive tenacity isn't where it needs to be. This is one of CNO's traits, but he hasn't got this team playing with defensive tenacity for the whole game at the level we saw last year. They turned it on late during the big run, but we've got to guard all the time! It sets the tone for our fast pace offensive style.

3. Finally, one thing I've pinpointed in the last couple of games is causing us offensive problems is our high ball screen game. Our half-court offense starts with a high ball screen around the top of the key. We usually set a pick with a 4 or 5 but our bigs are starting to roll before they finish setting the pick. It's creating an easy opportunity for the defense to climb over the pick. This completely misses the point of the screen which first should allow some separation for our point guards which often creates an easier path to the basket with a step or two on their defender. Also, the weak pick and premature roll are allowing their defender to trail the roller more easily and the roller isn't as open going to the basket. Also, if the point guard's defender isn't adequately screened on the high ball pick, the defender is working over the screen and many times he's able to stay with our point guard, which allows their defense not to have to switch and rotate, which keeps our perimeter shooters from being as open because their guy doesn't have to rotate down. This is where our whole offensive scheme starts and (right now) it is breaking down. Got to get this fixed ASAP.

See my post about the high ball screen. This is allowing the defense to do what you're noticing because they aren't having to rotate and leave the perimeter as much. It's much easy to jump those passing lanes when the initial high ball screen isn't being executed well. I also didn't note this in my post, but the defense is basically giving Gary the 3 pointer any time he wants it. He either has to start making them pay or we've got to find somebody that can.
