That is why I said that we need him to play well at Auburn. Need to get that draft stock up there.
Saturday night just before midnight my phone rings. It's my youngest son. That's an IMMEDIATE alarm 'cuz he's not a conversationalist at all. Most of our correspondences are text messages and emojis. (he's 24) A million things flash through your mind when your youngest child calls that time of night knowing he's been out driving late on a weekend night. I answer expecting some sort of help request or bad notification.

DAD.
Yeah, what's going on?!
Is Milroe coming back next year?
Dunno, he has the option. He has another year of eligibility.
Ugh! Do you think he'll get drafted?
Not based on tonight's performance. Some team will probably take a chance on him, but it'll be late round pay, and he can probably do better with NIL unless he's killed his value.
Okay, that's all I wanted. Goodnight.

THIS is the sentiment of ALL our usual watch party crowd now.

Veneables plan was not a spy, but have 8 heads up watching the QB and go where he goes because they knew Milroe wasn’t handing the ball off. 15 runs for 7 yards. More carries than the running backs combined. Which is sad in itself There were so few plays and so many 3 and outs.
This doesn't get talked about enough. For every play JM runs the ball is one less play our incredibly talented running backs, who both seem to have very good field vision, do not touch the ball!

And that is also one less play our WRs don't touch the ball because JM has it in his hands.

Outside of RW, it wouldn't shock me that many of the WRs we have don't transfer out!

No matter what happens, it's very unlikely he return to Alabama next year.
So you are saying there's a chance?

Seriously, my mind thinks of many reasons he would try to return. I was rooting for him to finish strong and go to the draft, but I wonder about these draft predictions after he's been made to look so hapless in several games this year.

Hurts allowed himself to be benched in order to get better. And the decision has paid off immensely for him. Milroe does not have the same self awareness amd thus the end of his playing career is drawing nigh.
It’s that thing called humility. It’s about closing your mouth and opening your ears. It’s about having full recognition that you CAN get better. It is about understanding there is a great big world out there beyond your own nose. It’s not an about being able to TELL people “I told you so”. It is about SHOWING people “It is so” without uttering a single word.

Have we seen any of that?

I don’t gamble at all but I’m almost willing to lay money that TLaw is gone already.

Kiffin had little faith in Coker as well. But did Coker publicly say anything until well after his time? No

Thank God Covid didn’t hit one year later or we could be enjoying his performances through the 2026 season.

Well, your opinion is fine and good but you gotta have a QB that has the ability to adjust and actually execute the adjustments. If you don't have that, which we don't, you can try all the adjustments in the world and it won't make a squat worth of difference.
You gotta give the staff this season and off season to get the cancer out of the locker room and get his players in the system on both sides of the ball and then it's fair game.
I don't have to give them anything. When the defensive game plan was so pathetic, like using a 3 man front on a 4th and 1, that is on the coaches. Wommack is a bad DC and needs to go, he hasn't adjusted to anything all year long. That's not a player revolt issue, it's a DC got not clue what to do issue.
You just really don't get it, do you?
You are picking and choosing my post to quote and ignoring all the ones where I have been highly critical of the LANK mafia and the ones where I said I hope Milroe is gone after this season. I stand by my statement. If this somehow continues for another season, then Deboer's tenure will be short lived and not kicking the LANK mafia to the portal will be viewed as why he failed. When he was hired I was hoping Milroe would be shown the portal door but, DeBoer decided to cave like Saban did last year and the results have been even worse.

Money trying to control the locker room isn't going away but, if we don't have or can't find a coach willing to kick that beats to the curb then we are going to be on this track over and over again in the future.
