I mean we really didn’t even get pressure on that play. The A&M lineman dragged our guy down into him while he was holding
Yep, usually when an offensive lineman holds the guy by the jersey and pulls him to the ground, it's called holding. That one was plain as day, but we're talking about SEC refs here. They won't call anything that will get them booed by the home team.

Well, we did a great job of fighting back, but then picked the worst time to choke it all away. I hope this makes us better and doesn't destroy the season. And what were were thinking down on the goal line. Give it to BRob and let him pound it in. You can't get 1st and goal, and settle for field goals, and expect to win.
This! Thats 4 more points we left and it could've propelled us yo a win if they start pressing

On the defense and on Golding; I can't keep ignoring the discrepancies in opposition scoring vs. us and their other opponents.

A&M hasn't looked this good all year. Now some of that is losing the starting QB in the first game. Some of it is the obvious fact they skipped prep on their first 5 opponents to prep for Alabama. But the evidence is against us everywhere else. And this has been happening for years. Honestly, it's not just Golding. It seems to have started when we really went "modern" on offense. It seems we left the defense behind.

Well. I wasn’t impressed with Bryce’s accuracy tonight. He threw some bad passes out there. Even our last TD was woefully under thrown to a wide open stationary receiver.
Young was also hampered by drops though. I'm not putting this on him because he didn't do the play calling and because of the drops. He could have played better though but I guess that could be said of just about anyone in the game. You had breakdowns everywhere.

Ultimately though I think the coordinators need to own this one. The inability to get stops when necessary on defense and the inability to punch it in on offense relies heavily on what plays are called.

But again... How do you explain us missing out on 28 points with all 4 of them being 3rd and short. Do the math... Does that 10 points ever matter if we score a TD on 1 of them? I know you love using math on Golding but be fair and use it with BoB.
I'm not defending the play calling on either side of the ball. But this sometimes good sometimes bad defense is a... well this waiting to happen. Golding doesn't have a generational best offense in the nation to fall back on, he has to be great and four years in he's only stepped up occasionally. His defense finishes the game and Alabama wins. It's just past due for Golding's defenses to be great, he's had four years and tons of talent. Just be great... that's the standard. Not good sometimes.

The great news. This game did nothing to prevent us from winning it all. There is no margin of error any longer, but if we win the rest, we win it all

we can pick apart what beat us. But I’m going to sleep tonight assuming Saban got what he needed to get this team to gel. If they don’t. They don’t.

but I’d rather lose now than in the playoffs.

we missed Jace and Drew tonight.

but this season is far from over.

How can you blame the defense for two turnovers on 3rd and short and constantly settling for FGs? By my count that is about 28 points left on the field by the offense. It happened in the Florida game as well, but everyone wants to blame Golding for everything. Stupid 3 and outs and dumb playcalling on offense are 90% of our woes this year.
There's plenty of errors in the mix here, and also a banner performance from Calzana that was reminiscent of Garcia's game against us.

1) We couldn't get pressure on Calzana, but TAMU was in our backfield for most of the night - mismatches on both lines were glaring - we saw flashes of the issues there in previous games, but the gashes up the middle and the easy answer by TAMU to just blitz every play really exposed just how bad the problems are there.
2) Our receivers were hot and cold a good part of the night.
3) Bad playcalling on both sides of the ball.
4) The pass play inside the 5 really helped get us behind.
5) Busted special teams play also really didn't help.
6) Losing Moore at the start of the game hurt.

Been discussed ad nauseam here. But, Golding is a problem. Four and five star players on defense led by a one star coach. There’s a reason no one is beating down his door to hire him away.
Yeah, I think his time should be over with........ but lots of things need to be fixed

Monday practice should be interesting........ now that the team has come back down to Earth, hopefully Saban has their attention....... the next two teams are going to fight hard

I agree, I think this game was lost during the week. Saban knows it. They'll either destroy everyone from here on out or fold.

Both of our lines are way overrated. Neither have performed exceedingly well game in and game out.
