The best thing for Shane Lee would be for someone to invent a time machine and send him back a decade. He’d be great against LSU under Les
Miles. I don’t mean that in a bad way for him, he’s just not built like a guy that can succeed in today’s game. He’s not quick enough and good teams can scheme against him pretty easily, Bama is lucky that we didn’t face any good TEs. Imagine him trying to keep up with a guy like Irv or OJ?

Same sort of thing with Bulovus, I don’t blame him one bit. He’s not the kind of kid that should ever see the field in an Iron Bowl like that. He did his best. It wasn’t good enough, but he’s not screwing up like other players making personal penalties that ships know better

I read on another Bama site that Demouy Kennedy was at LSU tonight and is going to flip from us to them. This is terrible news if true. We need to keep him. The person posting this is an insider supposedly . If LSU is paying players, I hope they get caught.

Same amount of scholarship limitations the barn had.

Same amount of times the barn had to face Bama in Bryant-Denny.

I couldn’t tell you much of anything about Barfield (besides his mediocrity) but 2/3 isn’t bad.
There are only so many D-1 talents out there. When Alabama can sign 50 or whatever the number was, it doesn't matter if Auburn signed 50 as well, because most of the "4-5 star" types would go to Alabama. The scholarship restrictions absolutely had their desired effect, which was leveling the playing field. Now, it's gone too far in the wrong direction, but that's another topic.

Don’t trust anybody about anything related to recruiting. Until the papers are in it’s a crap shoot. I wouldn’t be shocked to see recruits flip from Bama though. It’s becoming more and more common.

I’ll ignore the direct ad hominem attack of name-calling. We can argue semantics all day long—Bottom line, we’ve gone into JHS twice in a row now with a superior team and walked out the loser. You’re telling me that’s all due to blind luck and pixie dust, have I got that right? And don’t even think of saying I’m somehow suggesting we get rid of the GOAT coach which we have. In terms of proper preparation and having the this team ready to respond to every possibility, YES—this coach and by extension his staff got schooled according to definitions in my vocabulary!
When the refs allow an illegal FG attempt that ends up being the margin of loss, as well as prevent our D from substituting on a down which the offense substituted which ends the game on a penalty, and a 100 yard pick six bounced of a receiver's back into the arms of a defender who never even saw the ball, among a variety of other "blind luck and pixie dust" moments, yes, that is pretty much what I am saying.

At the very least, it is not grounds for saying a coach got "schooled."

2007-2008 was an impressive turnaround, albeit against more easily defensed offenses...

That said, 2020 can be salvaged - but it will take heroic efforts and decisions by Saban to happen. Time will tell if he has the energy to push for it or not.
Sure it’s possible, but a lot more is going against us than in 2008. The remnants of 2007 defense were better than the one we saw tonight and a lot more hungrier too.

I think 2020 will be a good season at the very least with us in the hunt in November, but right now UGA seems to be the guys that we will have to get over. They are returning nearly all of their defense. So anything can happen but without a better defense we are going to be as good as our offense can take us.

I'm with B1GTide. I have a quarrel with each of the teams still in the playoff mix. Even though Meyer is gone, I still see Ezekiel Elliott in my nightmares. I will NOT root for LSU or Georgia unless it is good for Alabama. I like Dabo as a guy -- was at Bama when he was there, and I respect where he's came from. But can't root for Clemson after the arrogance last year, and the fact it would give them two straight.

I'm still even holding a grudge over Utah and January 2009 in the Sugar Bowl. I love Jalen, but I'm in Texas now -- I can't pull for OU with all these big-mouth Sooner fans out here.

That about seals the deal. Guess I'm on the Ohio State bandwagon until the playoff ends.

You are blaming Saban for this loss? It lands on his shoulders because he is the CEO. But he, Nick Saban, did not get out coached in this game. Please, if he did, tell me where Auburn's game plan won the game. Where their adjustments won the game.

Enlighten me.
515 yards to Aubies 354. No, the game plan was solid. some questionable calls on the goal line. Like, a pass that was a pick6 on 1st and goal at the 3 And Najee Harris was in beast mode! That was a 14 pt swing, could of been a staggering punch had Bama scored there!

I just don't think it is coach bashing at this juncture. Dude had all year to find a way to take pressure off the ILBs and DL but instead he let the OLBs continue to dead-red after the QB on passing downs and put those guys in no win scenarios to clean up the mess. This ain't 2016. We don't have Daron Payne, Jon Allen, and Reuben Foster out there to clean up aggressive rushes from Tim Williams. He literally put those guys in no-win scenarios all season.
I'd have to agree with this. It's the old repeating the same error over and over joke. I don't think Golding will be here next year and I hope that we can fill that spot with someone with a lot more experience...

Again. He’s playing out of position!!! He’s the replacement for the OLBs who will be leaving (Lewis and Jennings). He’s having to learn a whole new job while also not having the attributes for it. Not easy.

I am beginning think talent and recruiting stars are overrated. Would we be better off with 3-4 star recruits who want to play for Alabama than just using us as a stepping stone to the NFL?
I was actually thinking that unfortunately sounds like a good portion of the '80s in T-Town.

Well. Fire everybody. Revoke all kicking scholarships. Burn it all down.

In allseriousness, the one thing I want to hear more than anything this next week is that this ref crew has been suspended and or/fired. Can’t blame a loss solely on refs, but these guys’ bungling mistakes resulted directly-directly! in gifting the game winning points to Auburn, and they apparently torpedoed our chance to win at the end of the game as well. If they aren’t seriously disciplined, then the whole SEC office needs to go. Burn it down.

I've never been a "blame the refs" guy, but something's got to give. The amount of critical errors from the refs today was staggering.

I said it in the post game thread - I hope Saban raises mortal hell with the SEC and at least gets them to acknowledge the atrocity that was the refereeing today. Somebody needs to answer to this stuff.

The refs will defend each other over this garbage. They will justify their actions.

All Greg Sankey will do is put out a statement saying that the “refs are doing the best they can do” and continue to not hold these refs accountable when they screw up.
