I’m giving Jalen fair praise and fair criticisms.

Go back and watch it.

It takes 4 secs for him to get stripped of the ball.

He looks and sees Procter get beat at the 2 sec mark and continues to stand there for 2 more secs before the fumble.

It was from the ‘Blind Side’ but it wasn’t a blind hit.

He just didn’t protect the ball period when he knew trouble was coming.

Yeah. I thought if he just took a step or two up he would have been fine.

Here is the play. At 1:22 he catches the snap. At 1:21 the defender is hitting his arm from his rear left side.

My complaint on that one was Jalen had plenty of space to move up but stayed stationary back there.

Yeah. I thought if he just took a step or two up he would have been fine.

That’s the problem. He’s basically at about a 7 step drop or more when you figure he’s shotgun( typically the depth of a 5 step drop back if I’m not mistaking) and takes two more steps back. The pocket is only so big proctor getting beat so far back is usually fine because it leaves a pocket for the qb to step up into. He had a running lane to the left if he would have just stepped up into the pocket on that play

Edited to say looking at it on that video he would have had to beat one person running to the left to make a 1st down. Still if he climbs the pocket his check down to the right is open and it doesn’t show the deeper routes here but I want to say I seen a different replay that showed someone else open.

I’m re-watching the game now and I gotta give some more love to Will Reichard.

It’s 24-20 and he’s probably about to attempt a 38-40 yard FG and Jalen gets sacked for 9 yards making it a 50 yard attempt.

Doesn’t even faze Will..

I’ll say this if our defense stays course we can hang with anyone with the 2nd half offense. On the flip side if the defense has a bad game or we have more of the fist half offense we could lose to about anyone.

Exactly. CNS went in at half, read the complaint thread, made the suggested corrections and the rest, as they say, was history.

Then after the game he called recruits parents and said this isn’t a reflection of the entire fan base and they shouldn’t worry about their son who, is playing as hard as he can, being maligned by people who’ve never played the game at that level.

Did anybody catch the Tennessee fans when one of our players went down for an injury and most of the Tennessee fans kept chanting something in the first quarter? It might not have been seen on TV but it was loud at BDS.

Listening to Mike Johnson, former Alabama AA , talking about Ridder and the Falcons. He made the comment that if a QB gets sacked or strip sacked 10 yards deep in the pocket by an outside speed rusher. That sack is on the QB or interior linemen , not the tackle.
