my thoughts as well.. i havent followed them much lately but they use to have a great home atmosphere and usually played tough at home. ISU isnt a tough place to win
I feel safe in betting most anything I have that this edition of Bama hoopsters couldn't win a game there.

It appears that some of the players just don't care that they lost this game. I don't know how much the coach can control that other than to weed them out.
Yeah I know it’s easy for us to say fire the coach, but I think the players should have more ownership of the performance vs. putting it all on CAJ, not that he doesn’t deserve any blame though.

yeah, Lewis is part of the problem if he is blaming the crowd, and he is blaming the crowd.
Lewis shouldn’t have even been sent to speak to the media. CNS does it right with his True Freshman media policy. Kira is 17 years old (if you haven’t heard that all year lol) he should have never been put in the situation to have to answer that question.

Agreed. That has been one minor area I wish Avery changed. Pretty much everyone has talked to the media instead of a collect few.

Good point. I didn’t think about it till you mentioned it. I’m thinking most coaches keep freshmen away from media and maybe even allow only limited exposure for underclass

I assume you never did anything you regretted when you were 17. Give the kid time to mature. He'll be the heart and soul of the team in a few years. He was by far our best player this year. Please refrain from criticizing a player who ought to be playing high school ball this year.

Please stop. That is the worst idea I have ever heard. I have not seen him do anything productive on the bench all year.
If going with he will come cheap, why not give it to Pettway? He could be had for less than $2MM. Let him be a Shula like caretaker for 2-3 years. At that point the Coleman renovation is done and we would likely have a better shot at boosters opening their checkbook to pay $7-$8 MM a year to go after a big name proven coach.

Let’s be realistic. A coach whose team plays hard and makes an NCAA tournament 3 out of 10 years and wins a game in the tournament once a decade will have a lifetime job. We will never be a program that will make the tourney more than 30% of the time.

I haven't seen anyone bashing, so all is good. Lessons need to be learned. Let's hope that happens.

I remember my senior year in High School (I was 17) We played for the state championship in football. I got interviewed by ABC 33/40 before the game. I was a pretty good public speaker, but in front of the camera it changes your mindset at 17. You just feel like you have to say something and sometimes the first thing that pops into your head comes out. Lol it also didn’t help that it was Kelly Hunter interviewing me and she was smoking hot haha.

But, its not! We owe Avery an $8MM buyout. The money men (boosters) are not willing to give Byrne the $8MM Plus another $3-$4MM per year to get a top coach. Even if we were to hire a Mark Few from Gonzaga, we ain’t, we are still a bottom 4 team in the SEC next year. Let Pettway be a caretaker until Coleman is redone and Byrne is able to sell a vision of the basketball program to the boosters. At that point maybe we could convince a Donovan at OKC or Stevens at. Boston to leave the NBA.

I’m not putting too much into an NIT game, our roster will be completely different next year and that’s what I’m stoked about. Keeping Coach through next year is the right call imo.. I think he proves everyone wrong and improves like he says he’s going too.

Kira Lewis Jr
John Petty/Jaylen Forbes
Herbert Jones/Juwan Gary
Trendon Watford?????/Alex Reese
Javian-Davis Fleming/Galin Smith

Jaden Shackleford
Diante Wood

Jones NEEDS to work on his scoring, if he can develop that mid range more he was using that’d be enough for a solid 8-10 ppg if he wants to continue starting

It drops to $6 million on April 16 and has been stated on here multiple times that can be re-negotiated if both sides agree to it. If the rumors are true (I believe they are) then CAJ has been reaching out to the NBA for a job so he apparently does not want to be here regardless of what he says publicly. He will owe us $3 million if he leaves without being fired. It's very doubtful he or his future employer will come up with that kind of cash so he is somewhat stuck. Since both sides are wanting out of the contract then a settlement will probably be negotiated where we pay him around $3 million ($6 million buyout that we owe - $3 million buyout that he owes) to leave is my guess.
