Alleged Victim's Mother: Jerry Sandusky Admitted it "To My Face" 13 (?!?!?!) years ago


What does Sandusky have on all of these people that NOBODY went to the authorities on him?

The mother of Victim 1:

A few weeks before her son broke down and confessed to a principal at Central Mountain High School in Clinton County that he was being molested by Jerry Sandusky—a volunteer football coach at his high school—his mother began to suspect something was wrong.
First, it was because her son was acting out. When she grounded him, she said Sandusky demanded he be able to "take care of it."
"I said, ‘No way, he's my kid,'" she said.
Then, her son began asking her about an online database for "sex weirdos."
"You don't want to just accuse people of that," the mother said. "I called the school principal and the guidance counselor and said, if nothing else, he's taking my son out of classes. He's leaving the school with him. ... So I asked them to call him into the office and ask [my son] how he felt.
"They did call him to the office that day and I remember [the principal] was in tears and she said, ‘You need to come here right away.'"

Her son, then 15, broke down and told them what happened.

The mother of Victim 6:

When the mother confronted Sandusky, he said: "I understand. I was wrong. I wish I could get forgiveness. I know I won't get it from you. I wish I were dead," according the presentment from the grand jury.
An investigator for Children and Youth Services broke the news to the mother: It was all a big mistake, the mother said she was told. The police officer who investigated won't comment. Neither will the former police chief.
"Jerry Sandusky admitted to my face, he admitted it," the mother said. "He admitted that he lathered up my son they were naked and he bear-hugged him. If they would have done something about it in 1998, and then again in 2002—there was two chances they dropped the ball and I think they should all be held accountable."

Her son, she said, can't stop thinking about Victim One.

Oh my...I really hate that for JoePa to have his career end this way. He'll always be one of the best and its not the way most would have liked to seen him go out.

Yep..as I said in the other thread, he's like the Dark Knight. He could've died (retired) a hero, but he lived (kept coaching) long enough to see himself become a villain. Sad stuff

Failure to protect a child is just as malignant as willfully harming a child.

I am appalled over this entire situation. Both the commission of the acts and the omission of proper reporting and follow-through by those who knew of them are abhorrent.

As a parent, I have always believed that an adult's primary responsibility is to protect children because they cannot protect themselves. I just cannot fathom how 2 people could see this man sexually assaulting a child and walk away leaving the child with this monster. I don't care that they reported to their bosses; they left the child in harms way. Without thinking, my first instinct would be to confront Sandusky to stop it right then, get the child away from him and call the police. I would not have been able to see this man on campus and athletic events and pretend that what I saw never happened.

Sad way for a legend to go out but it sounds like there was a cultural issue there. This is a really sad deal and it does make one question a lot of things. I feel for the families impacted by this. I am not a little concerned though that the media can stir up a situation such that there is a judge, jury and executioner all in a day before someone can defend themselves or know all the facts (speaking specifically about Paterno). And Paterno may well have handled things improperly. But the velocity of how things transpire these days is a bit scary. No time for the process to handle anything. The university sure dropped the ball on this for sure. But i would like to know what exactly happened with Paterno before he was hung. I guess he should have retired a long time ago. The Bear sure knew when his time was up and i have to give him props for leaving the game when he did.

Well, considering Paterno himself said a witness told him about it and he turned it in to the AD, as required by law, but didn't follow up on it or demand Sandusky be removed from the complex permanently is pretty damning. This is JoPa we're talking about - I guarantee you he could pick up the phone, make one call and anyone he wanted (short of the AD and president himself - maybe) would be banned from the football complex...

As a father of 3 young boys, this story makes me want to throw up. I cannot believe the number of people over the years that were in a position to stop this from happening but failed to do so. They'll have to live with that now and that won't be easy. Sandusky even had some of these boys spending the night at his house where he would molest them. He was married all of these years. Where was his wife in all of this???

I was remarking on Paterno's statement about it being "horsing around".

This whole thing makes me believe I'm living in the twilight zone. I keep hearing discussion of who reported what to whom after they say what and who didn't tell who. It's a bunch of crap! Who sees a man having sex with a child and doesn't physically attack the person at that moment? The fact that we live in a world where that wasn't the foray response by the witness or first question from everyone makes me sad. I'm sorry, actually I'm not sorry at all. I attack this person immediately. No matter how big they are I attack and even if I get beat the child gets away. I witnessed a woman being attacked once and acted. Who on earth waits and just tells someone the next day?

Well said and I wholeheartedly agree. I was just trying to make sure the 'horsing around' talk was dispelled in this thread. I was not trying to imply that you believed that.

Scum bags like Joe Pa, that's who. He doesn’t deserve the honor of resigning; they need to fire his butt now. The assistant should be fired as well and anyone else who had knowledge or a suspicion of the sexual acts and only "passed it up the chain." I agree, how could you not rush that scum bag and beat the crap out of him, or at least try and beat him up and give the kid a chance to get away. If someone ever does something to my kids they better pray that they get put in jail because I'll be coming for them. I'll beat there balls off with a baseball bat. How can these people live with themselves for doing nothing but passing the buck? Despicable people, I have no respect for anyone at Penn State.

This story has made me sick to my stomach, I can't even look at an image of Joe Pa without wanting to puke.

good interview with a former PSU student a reporter that is a good listen. Start this around 7:00 and hear her thoughts on what Joe knew in 1998 and then again in 2002 and then letting Sandusky bring little boys around in 2007 to a CLOSED PRACTICE while Joe and McQueary said nothing!

She also discusses the "horsing around" which is anal rape of a 10 year old. geez.

I listened and my neck tensed up so much when they were talking about the 2002 incident that I now have a headache. I can't deal with this story anymore today. Anyone that comes to the defense of Joe Pa is scum to me.
