Game Thread: OFFICIAL UT vs. UCLA Game Thread

Re: UT vs. UCLA

Yeah, some Californians football is virtually non-existent. I can't explain other than that I believe those are the ones that didn't play any sports in their lifetime. This is hard to believe but trust me, it's true.

I'm in complete shock that the game is this close. That "new" offense of UT's is struggling for sure.
The barn got 80 passing yards in its newly installed spread salad offense.

Re: UT vs. UCLA

UCLA has some athletes on defense but their offense looks pretty weak. I agree that the Viles will probably wear them down in the 2nd half if their QB doesnt screw up too much. He is definitely a rook.

I guess that UCLA didn't get the memo on how good UT's secondary is. :)

I like Nueheisel, but I guess I'll have to root for the walking Creamsicles.

Re: UT vs. UCLA

And it's funny because if you look at cities that have won the most titles in all levels of sports (This was brought up during ESPN's Titletown bit this summer), you really can't even touch Los Angeles.
Sports Illustrated did a issue about the most athletic/most sports titles/etc. in the country based on states, and California finished #1 overall.

We do love our sports and most us do love college sports especially. But it is an interesting in contrast compared to other states.

BTW, the Rose Bowl is never completely full for a UCLA game unless USC is the visitor, or it's the actual bowl game.

Re: UT vs. UCLA

I can't believe this, UT and UCLA are being too nice and not really wanting to win this game. UT is only winning b/c of another INT by UCLA.

I hope UT can play this bad at home in October :)

What's amazing me is how poorly ut is handling UCLA's rush - especially their blitzes.

Unless something drastically changes, Crompton is going to get eaten up in SEC play.

Did ya'll notice that they didn't play rocky flop after the TD? I am so confused and happy at the same time.
Actually they were starting it up as espn went to commercial. Many people don't know this but rocky top isn't actually ut's official fight song. They just play it so much because they apparently like the sound of thousands of people screaming 'wooo!' at the same time and also because so many of their fans can relate to the words of the song so well. Its funny because I cant think of another university that is more assocaited with a song other than their own fight song.

Re: UT vs. UCLA

I'm absolutely beside myself right now!

Here's a USC thread on the UCLA game if y'all wanna read their comments:

[ame="http://wearesc.com/forums/showthread.php?p=534461#poststop"]http://wearesc.com/forums/showthread.php?p=534461#poststop[/ame]

DISCLAIMER!!!
They are USC fans and will say that they're the top conference, so thus, some are rooting for UCLA (which makes no sense to me). Ignore that part, it's just something for y'all to read.

Holtz just said that it doesn't matter if you score points in football. Wow! He also gave UCLA a chance to win b/c their socks were straight.

Anybody here pulling for UT. I know many here hate the PAC-10 and I think them overrated myself, but Fulmer tried, and nearly succeeded, to destroy our program. As long as he is in charge of that program, I will pull for all of their opponents.

Go Bruins!!!!!!!!

And if the Vols at some point were to get the death penalty---Good riddance!
Given the cut-and-dry calculation of the rankings and the 25% weight given to schedule strength, I have to say that it has to be better for us if UT (and all our other opponents) are undefeated except for when we beat them. Correct?

Thus, while I certainly am not a UT fan (they're that neighbor that you just can't stand, remember?), I won't be hoping for a UCLA win, either.

Does this make me a traitor ? ;)
