I was just on the Rivals Ole Miss board and they are already crying about the officials. That is truly sad. They are getting the "official" excuse ready for when they lose. :pDT_ma:

I now live in Mississippi and am stunned by the level of dislike Ole Miss fans have for Alabama. They always pull against Alabama. One told me this week he has never pulled for Alabama in any game. Of course this may not be all Ole Miss fans, but it is a game they point to.

I was over there reading also, couldn't take it anymore. You could not even reason with them...I never posted but the Bama fans that did was not rude or obnoxious.

I was at the game last year at Ole Miss, it was a terrible ending, everything thrown on the field that could be. I just know I wanted to get out of there...but we were treated nice by the fans that we talked to as we left.

What a bunch of whiners..

I have lived in MEM all my life (except my 4 yrs in t-town) and yes OM fans are crybabies. They are always getting "cheated". I am often being told, how they should be undefeated right now. But with the same logic they use to justify that statement, they should have lost the FL game. They shut up when I point that out.

The ones I am friends with are nice enough, but they do HATE BAMA.

I got used to this sort of thing a long time ago. If you get another sec team fan to be honest with you, you'll find most all of them dislike Bama. The reason: who likes a bully? We beat up on the other teams for so long that we'll always be their "circled game", year end and year out.

And it's about to get worse as we re-arm in the next few years and return to being the bully again. When they like us, it's a bad sign.

I work in Mississippi and "this year" is always there year to beat Bama; and when that doesn't materialize they always have some excuse or other and it just fuels their hatred for all things Crimson.

In their defense, I doubt that anyone would argue that the SEC officials are a particularly competent bunch.

refrees? they obviously didnt watch the refs reel alabama in,in the first half vs ky, on cbs i might add. no one tunes in to a blow out except bama fans. cbs likes close games. if the same tactics are used vs ole miss we could get beat. if they let us play we could blow ole siss back to oxford.imho

This year I hope we bring our A game and beat them 56-0, so they can't throw out any excuses and have to say they were dominated.

I was one of those on there (bamatazz15). Every loss to us has been because of the officials. They even had a poll about when that "bad call" that would change the game in our favor was going to happen. Even when we play other teams the first thing out of an Ole Miss fan will be about the officials. Truly pathetic.

I am sure that they will find a way to still blame it on the officiating. Saying something like, "If the officials had called (incert penalty), we would have been able to get back into the game."

I live in Mississippi as well, and most of my friends are Ole Miss fans. You are right that their fans in general do not like Alabama. I don't really understand it. The way I see it is most Bama fans are quite impartial to Ole Miss. I really don't care about Ole Miss winning or losing except for one weekend out of the year, and that's this weekend!!!!!! I will also say that they are a group of the sorest losers ever. It is quite difficult to discuss football, because anytime the name Alabama comes up, they claim we are bragging. I for one am a bit concerened about this game, but I would really, really love for us to lay one on these guys this year. No more crap about the refs. :BigA:

I imagine that the fact that we're 45-8-2 against them all-time is the main reason they're choking on those sour grapes. They had a nice run under John Vaught, but other than that, they've reeked of mediocrity. Yet, somehow, they've deluded themselves into thinking that they're a reall heavyweight in the CFB world. Old Myth suits them to a T.

Or it could be something in the water over there because the USM fans are just about as bad. We're 35-5-2 all-time against them, but they make out like all our wins were the result of bad officiating.

When a team clearly owns your butt as we have these two, the best thing is to just shut the hell up and not call attention to it.

I would guess that Ole Miss fans think that the run when Eli was their QB (and Alabama had fallen on hard times) was "normal" and that their preceding and subsequent lack of success is abnormal.
Add to this the closeness of the recent games, and I see how they can twist perceptions into refs cheating Ole Miss whenever they lose.
The call last year was close, but correct. The Ole Miss receiver did go out of bounds, and was the first to touch the ball after coming back in bounds. Tough to lose that way, but those are the facts.

I'd say it's nearly ALL Ole Miss fans because I've never met an Ole Miss fan that I liked (out of the three I've ever met:biggrin:).

And the guy who moderates DeepSportsSouth.net is obviously an inferior Ole Miss fan, who is completely against Alabama, like the rest of them.
