Happy for him. Hope he has a great life ahead in retirement!

Back in 2007, I was at the Arkansas game and we thought we had farted that game away so we left our seats, but when we got down to field level to leave through the tunnel JP Wilson and company had started that game winning drive to that end of the field. We stood there to watch it unfold. I happened to look around and there stood Julio about 10 feet away with some other recruits who had come to the game. I had been following his recuitment so I knew exactly who he was. It was kinda surreal! Then, after the game ended as we start to walk out I almost bump into him. I remember myself saying, "How's it going Julio?"

I don't remember if he answered, but I'd say it went pretty well!

I was watching a YouTube highlight reel of him this morning. The fastest to 10k yards receiving in NFL history. For about 8 years or so he was the best in the league. But, as we saw when he was at Alabama, he was injury prone. His career really tapered off after that point.

I hate it he never got a Super Bowl ring. But he has to be a hall of famer, right? It is rare to see someone so athletically gifted also be so incredibly disciplined. He was truly one of the greats and perhaps was the singular recruit who got the Nick Saban train rolling.

Man. I was a freshman the same time Julio was. Wish I could retire!

Dude has had a great career and as far as I can tell has played it smart money-wise. Hope he finds something equally fulfilling to do now!

Yes he is an easy HOF. Question will be if he is first ballot or not. Personally, I think he should be first ballot. He is a clear top 10 WR of all time IMO.

The only knock on Julio from a pro career perspective would be his lack of touchdowns. Other than that, I would say for sure a Hall of Famer and one of the most impactful recruits we've ever had.

I can't name 10 WRs I'd take over Julio personally. Some may be controversial though. He's top 15 in yards IIRC and he has something like the 3rd or 4th highest yards per reception of those top 15. I know people will dock him because lack of TDs but I don't.

Outside of Megatron, Moss and probably TO I'm not sure anyone else is in his class when it comes to physical dominance and height/weight/speed/agility.

I hate he didn't get that superbowl ring. He certainly earned it. But the hall of fame is full of guys who were not in the right place and right time. He certainly will be in there one day. Wonder if he's interested in coaching?
Julio doesn't have a super bowl ring because his OC and HC were morons. Plus a runningback decided not to block D. Hightower. Julio had 2 incredible clutch catches in that game that were completely forgotten because of the outcome.
