Alabama just felt like a good situation, like the right place to be. I liked everything about the school.

So many things were equal, but being closer to home is what it came down to. The fact that Alabama isn't as far is what became important to me.

There is absolutely no way to overstate how big this one is. Of all of the signees left, including Allen, this is the one that we just had to get. Arie's commitment will bring further elite recruits in the years to come, which is to say nothing of the fact that our staff has long since had him as the top player on our board.

Well, folks, it looks like we are going to have a slow NSD after all. Slow in a little different way than expected, lol, but nevertheless.

Personally, color me tickled pink. The Allen situation really worked out absolutely as well as it could have, and then we get the one we really needed in Arie. And not only does that give us ridiculous depth up front, it probably brings us another five-star in 2011.

Hopefully we can land one of either Stone or Coleman tomorrow, but even if not, big whoop. It's been one hell of a class. As we say down in the Big Easy, the rest is just lagniappe.
