No rule. Grubb stated prior to eastern Illinois that he wanted to try it out. He has done it every game since

With the Ty injury smoke, it almost makes me wonder if they did it more for the backups than for Ty. So he can be more direct with them during the game and/or if they had to relieve Ty during a game

Pretty sure they do. Bama opened as a slight favorite on the road against a team they already lost to at home, and that's WITH the negative recency bias. Bama is probably in actuality a 4-5 point favorite, when you consider it's being dragged down by the performance against Georgia which was due in large part to being down 8 starters.

Most of that is public money, from what I hear. As of yesterday, I think the sharps were staying away from this one. I certainly would. So in this case, the opening line speaks volumes. If Bama hadn't been hampered by injuries against Georgia, they likely would have opened as a 4-5 point favorite. That's one of the reasons I feel so confident about this game.
