Well that was at least part of the problem at Ohio St. He was not, as we say, highly motivated academically. As in he had 0.0 motivation. I don't know if that followed him to Tuscaloosa and I don't want to speculate.Well if he is not going to play football I hope he does get his degree somewhere.
Best wishes.
That just tells me that he's as unrealistic as his family is...Per Duron Carter on Twitter a few minutes ago:
Duron Carter @DC_CHILLIN_8 Everyone asking if I'm going to play or not ... Guess we'll see in the spring, but I'll tell you this I'm still in Tuscaloosa #ROLLTIDE
Sounds like he isn't giving up at least. I'm not holding out a ton of hope, but we'll see I guess.
This reminds me of why I miss Julio. Not only was he a freak with his talent, but he was a real team player. Never a problem. Saban said Julio changed the culture of the wr position and that say a lot.
I tend to agree with this..Let's not assume Duron has been up to no good. He could honestly be struggling academically. We do not know the peculiars of the situation, so I'm reluctant to make a statement positive or negative.
The fact he hasn't been eligible either with the NCAA or internally since he showed up is disappointing though.
I don't think any coach would suspend a player for struggling academically IF that player was doing everything in his power to be the best student possible (i.e. going to classes, study hall, etc.).Let's not assume Duron has been up to no good. I understand what you are saying but I am afraid you are wrong. There are academic standards that must be met which I'm sure are WELL COMMUNICATED to the student-athlete at every step along the way. Was it specifically reported that CNS suspended him or just that he would not be eligible for Spring practice?I don't think any coach would suspend a player for struggling academically IF that player was doing everything in his power to be the best student possible (i.e. going to classes, study hall, etc.).
Actually, he got his grades in order last term. It was something else. However, I hear now that he will get another chance, conditionally. He's expected to go through spring practice. I have a feeling Cris may end up in T-Town also...Earle already posted that it was "personal decisions".........
I hope Duron hasn't personally decided to struggle with his academics...?
