Pic Of Jesse Williams and Quinton Dial Standing Beside Each Other

  • Hi Guest, we are working on updating the site servers and software. We're also 'forcing' everyone to read and agree to our site privacy policy and terms of service. There are no significant changes to either of these but the terms page does clarify a few things that are mostly in the legalese. You can just click the checkbox for both and continue using the site as usual! We'll update you more on the site upgrades VERY soon! THANK YOU AS ALWAYS for supporting the site and being an active participant!

Jesse's down to 319? I'd rather him be closer to 330-340 as earlier reported. I feel a true, massive NG is necessary.

All of the big guys have lost weight with the 4th quarter program and will add it back prior to the 2011 season. I met Jesse on one of his visits last year. Barrett was his host and he was a full inch shorter than Barrett, so I would put him at 6'3". Jesse is broad and solidly built. I think he will make a good one.

I don't care how big they are as long as their Nicknames are Cujo & Mad Dog.
(I want em mean, with a really nasty disposition toward strangers.) :)

6'3'' is a good height for DT. From a leverage standpoint being shorter than your competition gives you an advantage in being able to get under opponents pads and shed blocks. IMO

Don't forget NFL Rookie of the Year Ndamukong Suh is only 307 pounds, and he's a big factor in every play. Some say he's the most dominant defensive lineman in the last twenty years. Fairley I believe was under 300 pounds and he shut entire offenses down (see BCSNCG). Williams will be fine, especially if he does add ten pounds back. It's all about strength, and Jesse has it. If he can handle the speed of the SEC, he has the physical tools to demand double teams.

I love an intriguing, enigmatic beauty
Don't let her fool you. I've never heard of size 6/8...

It's all about strength, and Jesse has it.
Chapman has strength. What I hope Williams has in addition to strength is agility, the ability to use his strength, and quickness.
He needs to hurry up and play. I'm as guilty as anyone of expecting too much too quickly from him, but he's quickly becoming a legendary figure without even attending an official practice.

I think Quinton Dial and Brandon Moore could be equally as dominant on the LOS as Williams. Both of them are very disruptive and talented players.

Exactly. Chapman was never aggressive enough to make a huge impact, or else he just couldn't handle the speed of the game. I'm not expecting that from Jesse. But you are right about expectations for him getting out of hand. We're already billing this years defense as the "greatest ever" at Bama, in large part because of Jesse.

So you'd rather have him carrying around an extra 21lbs of fat for the sole purpose of weighing a lot on a scale?

All I know about J. Williams is that the staff thinks he was the best recruit in the country last year.
