Coach has absolutely nothing to do with the offense other than personnel. I forget what interview I heard that in. But he said that. I don't imagine the OC being too restricted on that side of the ball.
Remember the play that beat auburn in 09? Cody-5. Saban called that play, as far as the majority of play calling, playbook, set, formations, etc Saban doesn't deal with it. Sure, he'll coach em up, but come game day, it's all on the OC shoulders to score us some points. I mean, Saban is not gonna bring in someone like Mike Leach, or that Baylor OC. We're not going to be airing-it-out. We'll still be run first, but I don't think it's always going to be exactly how Saban would do it. Why do you think he yell's so much when our O is on the field
I'm kind of excited for our new offense next season. Lord knows watching some of these suspect play calling has driven me insane. Last year all they wanted to do was get cute in the redzone. This year I guess has been way better though. Even without a receiver with Julio's caliber.
Whoever comes in will have an arsenal of weapons to use.
