Re: A J McCarron

I am sure this goes on but hopefully not encouraged or condoned....
Well, encouraged or not, it happens at most programs. For instance, last year BJ Scott was doing the very same thing for Alabama. Oklahoma actually didn't allow him to accompany Julio Jones on his official visit to Norman.

If I were coach I would think twice before granting a courtesy visit to a kid who is firm to another school. Seems to risky to me....

Example: UT's biggest weekend of the year is 01-30 yet Trent Richardson will be there too. This seems foolish to me (UT's part) because we all know TR is not signing with UT. However, Pat Patterson is a potential signee so I wouldn't want him anywhere near TR!!!

Just my opinion....
Pat Pattersons not going to UT either.

Alabama/Ole Miss battle at this point. However, official visits can change that. We'll just have to see.
UT is a long shot but if we can keep him away from Richardson I will feel better! Haha! Patterson will be in KVegas with Marlon Brown and Randall Carroll and I would be pleased with any 1 of the 3....

A.J. once again claims that he thinks we will sign Rueben Randle as did Kellen Williams. But I don't put much stock into what recruits say anyway. Although interesting note, Coach Saban asked A.J. not to take a visit to Tennessee and A.J. said "no problem." Now this is the first time I have ever heard of Nick asking ANYONE not to take a visit. Me thinks Tennessee may have brought out the infamous Coach Satan and will rue the day they crossed him.

What would be fantastic is if he tells Trent not to visit Tennessee. If Trent doesn't visit UT then I suspect coach got to him and if that occurs then Trent is 100% Bama.

Coach Saban has always treated every opponent the same, at least to my knowledge. However, it will be interesting to watch this new development over the next few years. It would have been in Lane's best interest to keep his comments on the situation to himself during that presser.

Ah, hell, he needed to learn how to loathe Tennessee with a passion anyway, if he didn't already.

Do you think AJ still being on his list of "Targets" had anything to do with CNS asking AJ not to go?

Not sure how accurate this is ... but it's listed under him as a UT coach per Rivals.com:

TARGETS
Terrance Coleman DT (note: plans to visit on 1/30)
Jonathan Evans LB
Nico Johnson LB
Philip Lutzenkirchen TE
AJ McCarron QB
Darren Myles DB
Branden Smith DB

There are no planned visit dates for the other students. I may be wrong but didn't he assure CNS he wouldn't go after any UA recruits?

Word is CLT already broke that "vow." Whatever let him do what he wants it won't matter in the long run. Saban and Willis will own him in Mobile. Besides A.J. and Nico aren't going anywhere but Bama no matter who UT(or any other school for that matter) has recruiting them.
