I also heard about that Jacoby Brissett info. It is very interesting and it is reportedly a first hand report which is said to be directly from Brissett himself. That same report said that Brissett and DE Curtis Maggitt want to play together and that Maggitt is also down to Wisconsin and Bama. I am still more than a little curious as to how Bama will be able to find room for two QBs, Ely and Brissett in this class.

Brissett has already officially visited Wisconsin and it been thought that FSU was the team to beat for Brissett. His HS teammate TE Nick O’Leary is thought to be an FSU lock, and they have discussed they would like to play college ball together. I have tried to find some sort of confirmation, or other source that Brissett has named his top two favorites as Bama and Wisconsin with no success.

Thanks for that info CS. Someone told me that today, and I was a little skeptical at first. But I guess their are some legs to this. I don't see how we're gonna find room either but I'll welcome him with open arms.

This would be interesting since he's "dual threat." Any speculation on how CNS might use him?
I've noticed that CNS has began offering more and more dual threat QBs. Jameis Winston, Matt Davis, and Jeremy Liggins (2012 QBs) all have offers. All are dual threat QBs. And even though Star Jackson wasn't listed as a dual threat, he definitely has the ability to run. Brissett can definitely run, but from the highlights I've watched of him, it seems he prefers to stay in the pocket and throw. At 6'5 225 he's got great size. He's the #6 dual threat QB on Rivals.

Going out on a limb here and saying that he doesn't end up at Bama. If he does, I'd bet he gets moved to another position. Anyone know if he plays any other positions in HS?

no you should express your opinion but keep in mind players, recruits, and prospects have access to this board and what you say about them. As in the real world its important to be tactful.
I used to agree with this line of thought. But if a recruit doesn't want to come play football for the greatest football power in America because of what some fan said on a message board, then his skin isn't thick enough to play here anyway. If what TheTradition just said a few pages back is going to scare him off, what do you think he's going to do when Saban chews his @%^ out in the locker room after a bad practice?

Also, I enjoy being able to rationally discuss a prospect. Every time a kid commits his threads are filled with "This kid looks like the next Barry Sanders!!!!!" or " This kid is the next Joe Willie!!!! YAY!!!"

Not every kid is going to pan out, we've had more than our share lately. I don't see what's wrong with discussing a prospects pro's and con's.

I don't like Ely's height. That's just my opinion. Sure there are the Doug Flutie's of the world who panned out, but for every Doug Flutie, I can find you 10 Brandon Avalos's.

There are prospects every year that I wish hadn't committed. For whatever reason I feel like they'll eventually transfer or quit the team. I don't want to say that when they commit for obvious reasons, but we all know what I'm talking about. Not every kid who commits is going to be a starter or a star. There's no problem with rational discussion of what a prospect is lacking.

For example. Vinnie Sunseri. I'm not a huge fan of his size. He doesn't have an SEC LB body. But what he lacks in size, I believe he'll more than make up for with his ability to be an on the field coach. He's the son of a coach and he should know the defensive playbook as well as Rolando McClain did by the time arrives on campus. If he has even an ounce of leadership in him, he could eventually be an extension of CNS on the field the same way Ro was last year.

I agree with a lot of what you're saying RedStar but on the Vinnie Sunseri thing he probably won't end up at LB anyway. Coach Saban likes him at H-Back or safety. He has great speed and ball skills. I think he would make an outstanding strong safety/money type player.

I also agree with RedStar. I don't want to be censored because it may hurt someone's feeling. This is a message board, and if a recruit is going to roam around here, understand that we are adults and we may express our opinions as adults. I personally think Ely is another JPW/Mcelroy type, not a superstar. We seem to recruit some solid QB's, but we haven't landed that super star yet at QB. Phillip Sims may be that guy, though.

I love Phillip Sims but let's not overlook AJ. Most observers say he is the real deal.
