Questions about Milroe.

We've been spoiled by first round QB talent the past several years prior to Milroe, so when we have a QB that's pretty much like a usual SEC level QB, we can't take it. For years we ate 2 dollar steak at the QB position, so when we got a taste of the prime ribeye, we didn't want to go back.

Milroe is fast, there's no doubt about that, but he seems to lack the instincts to make him a natural running back. There was a play I saw during the Tennessee game where it looked like he had the blockers leading the way, but, for some reason he kept going laterally instead of cutting up field.

Milroe can also make some amazing throws that make you think "Wow, that was a great throw". But, there's also so many plays during the game that occur that make you think "Wow, what was he doing there. Or, how did he miss that throw?"
Who were the $2 steak QBs?

Listen, I think Ty should get a shot and I've said this many times, but you can't bench a captain and a guy who just won you a SEC championship and took you to the playoffs, now if the wheels come off next week then it's time to but you can't right now
The wheels came off Saturday in Knoxville and the lug nuts were already loose the 2 games before.

He's had every opportunity that could possibly be afforded to a QB.

He's also not been displaying traits of a Captain when he just goes and sits on the bench and doesn't interact with or support or inspire his teammates.

He can keep the 'C' on his jersey for all l care...keep the NIL too.... don't care.

But I want to see Ty Simpson get a chance to start because he's earned it.

As Earle pointed out, there were no deep throws against the Vols, indicating a possible arm problem.

UT isn't getting 8 million of value from Nico either. He stares down his receivers worse than Jalen and is pretty inaccurate himself.

Milroe is not a usual SEC level QB. His mechanics are atrocious and have been his entire time there. His decision making is atrocious and has been the entire time there. He doesn't really like to run because he wants to prove to everyone he's something he is not, a passing QB.

The kid has had his chance, teams have figured him out. Its time to move on.

His sitting alone on the bench was definitely an odd and somewhat concerning look.

Seems that in a game like TN he'd have been talking to his line and skill players, but instead, he seemed to just be staring off into space...not talking to anyone...not even coaches.

Perhaps that's just the clips we were shown the game, but he looked more like he was waiting to see the dentist than waiting to go back in and try to win the game.

Sorry, but this is not “usual SEC QB play.” It’s bad. And more than bad, it’s not smart QB play. How many SEC QBs are throwing 80% of their passes in a game to one reciever?

He's been doing this since the Vanderbilt game. When the chips are down, he seems to check out...

To be fair another board closed right before the season and we have some new comers that are looking for a new home. New members and board growth should be considered a good thing. I don’t get the gripe.
It's not all the new members, it's the ones who popped up as soon as the team started to struggle.

When the first few posts from a new member are totally negative it's often a sign of a troll hopping on the anti-hype bandwagon.

It happens...it is what it is...and it's fine to point it out.

It's weird, because these are the times that a lot of the great ones are surrounding themselves with the linemen, talking to coaches, working out things with their receivers and backs...but Milroe just sits there looking like he's about to get a root canal.

Something is definitely off.

The tenor of TideFans has always been a bit different than most any other CFB forum. We work intentionally to make it that way.

Some of the newer folks are coming from forums that are/were very different. They're welcome here as long as they come in, read the room, and adjust their posting style to what we want here. If they choose to kick in the door and start spraying the room with attitude like is accepted on most sites, they're not wanted here and will be escorted out sooner or later.

TF.com is not the primary income stream for BamaNation - and he has principles and standards he wishes to uphold. If that means TF.com isn't the biggest, that's fine - we're not going to compromise the standards that set TF.com above the other forums out there.

Believe me, I absolutely HATE that I was right about him this entire time. I wish I could go to an alternate universe where Bama sent Milroe packing to the portal after 2022 when BOB told him he wasn't a QB. I don't know if we would have won the SEC last year with Ty, but we would be SOOOOOOOOO much better off in 2024 if Ty had been the starter the entire time.

I know most of you don't care, but I will not support this program until Milroe and all of his LANK cancer are gone.

Well typically new posters who come in and complain incessantly are trolls pretending to be Bama fans.

It flared several times during the Saban tenure, mostly from the Corndogs, which is why you only see one LSU fan on the board. They came in hoards and nearly drowned the board with their whining nonsense.

You were so wrong in the first part of that game against Georgia though. But, other than that, you've been pretty right lol.

It definitely is off. The goat left rather than deal with where college football is headed. Now a new coach has to face it and his job will quickly hang in the balance over it. I imagine that he thought that he could ride it out this year then put the talent in place to fit his offensive model. That is not going so well for him.

Freddie Kitchens. To be serious though, we hadn't had a first round NFL type QB until Tua, so I think that was the big change. After Tua we were spoiled at QB for a while.
That's going way back.

Freddie graduated from Bama before Tua was born and had been coaching in the NFL for tens years by the time Tua got on campus.
