There simply aren't very many good sports journalists that cover college football, especially not in this area. Tony Barnhart of the AJC is about the only one in the whole region that has a clue, and that's because he is at least well informed and seems to make an effort.

His disdain for all things Tide not be missed. I don't think he liked Auburn either. if it wasnt UAB, or troy he came up with something to criticize. Bama wins the national title, "why doesnt Alabama play UAB, and give them the money" is his article the next day. Auburn goes 14-0 "They should have played Troy to help them out" was his reply. I was sick of his poor little school mentality. His mediocre at best articles were stuff junior high papers were made of. So long you will not be missed. I only read him to see what the "haters" had to say. Cecil on the other hand, hell of a writer.

I am sure Cecil would be one of the first to publish his columns for free. TS puts them on the web site after they are a month old not the 2 weeks like they first claimed. Just another lie from TS sports , they need to change the name to Tubular Sports. On second thought I would love to know how many members stopped posting on the site. I know its a bunch.
