Hope so. Have Big Cam blocking for him.Hearing that the visit has swayed LF in our direction! :cool2:
I was thinking exactly what you wrote JBama...amazing how he got that Fournette wasn't impressed.
Yup..We all have our own opinions & translates what these recruits thinks when they are interviewed..I agree 100% with both of y'all, I sense LF loved the visit & came away from the game leaning toward going to Bama..He may very well go the The Swamp Kittens, but, nothing in what he was quoted thinks or senses he came away unimpressed with Bama..I think it's right the opposites as well..That's what you got from that?! Wow!

Each year every job is open to the man who wins it. There is no "standing in line waiting your turn". If a player has what it takes then he plays. Simple as that.I"m curious. I wonder if Fournette factor the playing time into the decisions. I mean we have Yeldon for one more year, and then it's Drake, Henry, Kamara, Tenpenney. Where would Fournette fits in this? That's something He has to consider? Unless, He's believed to get playing time immediately next year?
Don't forget Drake could also leave at the same time as Yeldon. Similar to when Felix Jones leaving Arkansas the same time Darren McFadden did (let's not forget Peyton Hillis). It's very possible that RB's 1A and 1B could both be open for competition come 2015.I"m curious. I wonder if Fournette factor the playing time into the decisions. He's coming to Bama! He and Hootie and Elam as we wrap up another NFL-ish recruiting class. Sweet to be Bama. Real sweet. :BigA:I saw a one minute interview with him on the web yesterday (the quote came from that interview). The person doing the interview clearly was an LSU fan or reporter of some kind. He asked LF if he was recruiting Brown to LSU. Strange question to ask an uncommitted player. LF was pretty smooth in ducking the question, but he didn't deny it in any way.
As for Alabama - he only said that he enjoyed the game. He did not say anything about the school or your program. To me, that says a whole lot. Then again, he was being interviewed by an LSU guy, so maybe he is just keeping things quiet.
I hate that these kids are under so much pressure by fans in their home state to do what the fans want them to do instead of following their hearts.
He has talked with Hootie on multiple occasions but it appears Fournette and Tony Brown are more of friends than he and Hootie are.Does anyone know if he and Hootie are good friends? From everything I've read, it sounds like Hootie's been favoring Bama for the last little while, so hopefully he could bring him on board as well.
Immediate PT is the only thing preventing LF from coming to Bama. But it may be the only thing required. He's coming to Bama! He and Hootie and Elam as we wrap up another NFL-ish recruiting class. Sweet to be Bama. Real sweet. :BigA:
Yeah, I'd love to get LF, but it looks like he'll be LSU bound. Once Hill leaves (I'd bet he goes pro after next season, just like TJ), no one there is really going to contend with LF for the starting job.Immediate PT is the only thing preventing LF from coming to Bama. Keeps them fresh for the long haul, like vs UGA and BD as well.I don't normally comment on recruiting because I have no new info. I do want to say it may better to wait your turn at Alabama than to play early at another school. We've had almost every starting RB be a 1st or early 2nd round selection since CNS showed up. Look at schools like USC where Spurrier wore Lattimore out or LSwho where Jeremy Hill is getting the lions share of carries. It is better IMHO to be in a rotation than to play every snap even if you are a stud. Saban has also proven he will play a freshman who is ready if he is the best RB.
I agree, but I don't blame a kid that wants to play right away and that is almost guaranteed for him at LSU. The lifespan of a RB in the NFL is getting smaller; durability, as you mentioned, should also be a factor. I don't want to defend LSU, but they also use a committee system like we do. They aren't USCe or UF or Pitt that has run down RB's recently.I don't normally comment on recruiting because I have no new info. I really don't understand that. Lacy only had one year as a feature running back, and he was still able to have a good draft position and land on a great team. Neither Ingram or Trent were feature backs during their first seasons.Immediate PT is the only thing preventing LF from coming to Bama. But it may be the only thing required.
Hill can leave after this season I believe. he's 21 y.o. and 3 years remove from HS.Yeah, I'd love to get LF, but it looks like he'll be LSU bound. Once Hill leaves (I'd bet he goes pro after next season, just like TJ), no one there is really going to contend with LF for the starting job.
I agree 100% with you Krazy. IMO, for LF it could be as simple as staying in state and playing for your home school. I tried not to over think too much on his recruitment or others for that matter. kids are kids. we need to remember that from time to time. :biggrin:I really don't understand that. However, as Yeldon showed, it is entirely possible to break through and have a big freshman season. I just don't get why someone like LF would look at how things have gone for Drake for instance, and that he'd prefer to be kind of thrown into the fire from the get go, and what ever happens, happens...
Running backs are not like other positions, each carry shortens their career. Does Jeremy Hill's career look that much more attractive to LF? He has over twice as many carries (almost 170 more), and 13 more touchdowns than Drake. But, if it's about accomplishments, Drake is the one with a ring, and if it's about draft stock, if anything, Alabama's approach helps their guys get drafted higher.
