I watched a video from Morning Joe this a.m. featuring Katty Kay and David Ignatius of the Washington Post. I have never heard such defeatism and utter hopelessness expressed by Ignatius toward the Ukrainian military chance against the "mighty power" of the Soviet military. Kay talked at some length about Jens Stoltenberg's equivocation yesterday about about NATO's response to the use of tactical nukes by the Russians.

I needed a blood pressure pill after watching what I considered to be a completely defeatist attitude without offering any thoughts about the alternatives to the complete destruction of Ukraine and the deaths of thousands upon thousands of Ukrainians.

War is such a terribly depressing thing with so much senseless loss of life. Most who die are either innocent civilians, defending a righteous cause, or born in the wrong place and time. It's the decision-makers in a war of aggression that are evil.

Seeing the pictures right next to each other, I think you are right. Also, in the top picture Putin's eyes look hollow.
