Nah, the SEC is a lot bigger than texas.Well, Texas destroyed the Southwest Conference and now the Big 12-2. Will the SEC be the NEXT conference that they DESTROY? Just asking for a Texas friend.

Ego's as big as Texas tend to do that...I hope the SEC people realize that they are probably doing a dance with the devil.!!Well, Texas destroyed the Southwest Conference and now the Big 12-2. Will the SEC be the NEXT conference that they DESTROY? Just asking for a Texas friend.
Oklahoma in the SEC could possibly be like Nebraska in the B1G. Florida, UGA, etc. beats them, so they do not make the playoffs. If it weren't for Texas athletes playing for Oklahoma, they would not be very good.I’m guessing this is a reaction to the NIL combined with the playoff expansion. Presumably, both schools believe they would be better aligned for these changes in the SEC. Assuming this happens, then I'm sure the dominos will start falling for the ACC, PAC-12 and Big Ten to scramble to create four super conferences.
I just don't see the immediate benefit to either the SEC or Texas and Oklahoma. Oklahoma gets into the playoffs most years by virtue of playing in a weaker conference, this will not bode well for them in making the playoffs, at least not until expansion occurs, and even then it hurts their chances. Texas hasn't made the playoffs yet, so this definitely will hurt them. I guess I do understand how it can benefit them from a recruiting perspective and better branding for NIL purposes.
This is the PERFECT picture of what is about to occur if ut is added to the SEC.
We started discussing the Texas A&M addition back when there was still talk of A&M leaving with Texas to join the Pac-12, huh?
It would be hilarious if after all of this hubub, they ended up going to the Pac 12 after all.![]()
Texas and Oklahoma Reached Out To The SEC? How Would This Work?: Daily Cavalcade
Could Texas and Oklahoma really be thinking about moving to the SEC? It’s reportedly being discussed in a potential college sports shocker. College Football Daily Cavalcade: Texas and Oklahom…collegefootballnews.com
It appears this got leaked yesterday by A&M. I can't say I blame them.In interview posted on al.com, R. Bowen Loftin, former president of A&M who navigated their move to the SEC, stated at the end: "“Would you really want to go and add a state we already have a presence in or add a school from a state we don’t have a presence in?” he said. “It’d make much more sense to go eastward. Virginia Tech, UNC coming out of the ACC, that would have more sensibility from pure economics.”
That being said, there is more to this than just smoke...as hard as it is for me to believe...I may have to start drinking again...
But what if they accepted???What we should do is only invite TCU and Okie State. Just for the laughs.
Behind the scenes demands regarding scheduling, probably even the SEC Network, etc. Once they get a seat at the table, they will work to get to the head of the table, even to getting their person in as commissioner. It's almost impossible for us to understand the depth of their arrogance...for no apparent reason.Help me understand how Texas will destroy the SEC. I don't know how it was with the old Southwest conference, but in the Big 12 they get the biggest share (along with OU) IIRC.
But in the SEC, they'd just be as equal as the other 16 teams (if UT and OU) join. SEC sends out the same amount of money at the end of every year to every team. So how do they destroy the SEC?
BTW, I genuinely asking the question because I don't know how they would destroy the SEC if Alabama hasn't already because we got more "clout" than anybody in the conference.
I saw this reported and I have no idea what kind of crack is making people come up with this number. That's 256 million MORE PER YEAR! That's more than Texas' entire athletic department brings in annually, there's no kinda way this brings that kind of money.when you can go from bout 44 million to 60 million revenue every university president will go for this
This needs to be put in relative terms.Edit: Everyone keeps saying that the SEC gains nothing by adding Texas because it has the state via A&M. That's simply not true.
