News Article: selmaborntidefan & Elefantman & other TideFans quoted in IndyStar article today (12/30/25)

In reading their posts here, seeing a lot of banter on Facebook, and now reading this article, it is apparent just how amazingly new-money-never-been-there-before-arrogant they (and much of the B1G, frankly) are. Like Boise state fans from a decade ago, or even Georgia fans but on ā€œego-steroidsā€ (if that’s even possible for Georgia fans - haven’t they already maxed out?), they are the poster children for how not to act when confronted with new-found success.

You’ve got a good team - we get it. We actually admire how you’re doing it the old fashioned way: with hard work, discipline, sound fundamentals, and balanced football, despite the marked dearth of blue chip talent. That’s actually right in Bama’s respectability wheelhouse. ā€œWe just don’t understandā€, I guess, for believing we have a shot at beating mighty Indiana. Lolz.

If we don’t check their arrogance Thursday, I sure hope someone does soon. If not, they’re in for quite the letdown next year anyway after all their upperclassmen graduate - they’re a fairly old team with a lot of experienced depth. Once they don’t have that, I don’t think even the kennesaw state schedule will help them. Right back down to earth.
It's funny. It is easy to respect the team and their coaches. It is the fans and their media that ruin it for the IU program.

TBF Finebaum made his start in print by going after Alabama coaches. More or less him and Skip Bayless invented the concept when print was a thing.

If you are arguing that Doyle is a Joesph Goodman type then fine. But atleast Doyle seeks some sorta research to back a dumb over the top take
Got that right. PF is incredibly intelligent to have made a career on a sport that he still has relatively little understanding. Brilliantly, he made his bones on pitting two of the most rabid fanbases in the same state against one another in print and later on a radio program. He may be the worst of the pinhead media but you have to admit to his successful formula.

As quoted in And So It Goes: Kurt Vonnegut: A Life (2011) by Charles J. Shields, Vonnegut writes in his introduction to his book Wampeters, Foma and Granfalloons (1974) that a "granfalloon is a proud and meaningless collection of human beings"; Shields also comments that in the same book, Vonnegut later cites the demonym of 'Hoosiers' as "one of [Vonnegut's] favorite examples" of what the term embodies.

Ha ! I had replied to his facebook post with a comment to the effect that if IU fans wanted to read a fair assessment / preview of the game that didn't insult the opposing fans, they should actually read Jess' article with a link to the article.

Tough guy Doyel has deleted it. What a maroon.
Maybe someone should go post like a Barner and praise him for ā€œshowing those Bammersā€ and see if he’ll leave it up.

Inspired by the Indystar article, I checked their ā€œrespectfulā€ message boards. looks we are famous on the Indiana Hoosiers free site . They aren’t so ā€œrespectfulā€, after all. And Bama Buzzard is INSUFFERABLE. . It Begs the question, why would they come to the site to suffer in the first place? IMG_1328.jpeg

Most thinks Hoosiers will win by 3 TDS.
