We are having our first child and my wife stopped at a speciality shop and asked where the Baby Bama gear was. The woman said, "mam, since the first game of the year we can't keep it in. You see that auburn gear? We can't get rid of it!". What a great quote. Sums up football in this state right now. Either the fambly has stopped having fambleys or.......

To be fair, this is entirely possible. My knowledge of bovine mating seasons is pretty limited.

My husband manages a retail store, and it is definitely true that the Auburn gear is plentiful, but it is hard to keep the Bama stuff in stock.

Didn't you know? It's just because Bama has bandwagon sidewalk fans and Auburn fans (all engineering CEOs) are too busy to be concerned with something as trivial as sports. ;)

It's kinda like that one story...guy walks in to sporting store while the staff is setting up a sale on collegiate gear. Store staff has marked items for sell for all but Bama. Guy realizes the Bama gear costs more and immediately calls his friends to tell them the store is selling Bama gear at a premium. Staff leaves Bama gear marked up and due to word spreading so fast about the Bama being gear being worth more sells out...or something like that.

I saw this the other day too. Went shopping for some large coffee mugs. Saw the auburn mugs first and they were in the $4 n $5 range. So I was looking for the BAMA mugs. I finally found them near the registers and they were $12 and up.

Merch is one thing, but their ticket prices are dirt cheap. Oh to be losers!

We are suckers we buy all we can when we come up. Alabama stuff is always higher. We spent $700 at Martins last year. I don't really care we don't buy what we can't afford & we do stock up when we come up.

I wish we could get stuff here, there are 3 Nike stores in Orlando & not one Bama item in them.

Just the price to pay for enjoying these Championships.

I saw the thread title and immediately assumed it was Dizzy asking if he should buy a Russian wife or a South American wife.

We had a guy come into work last week, and I had on my Bama shirt. I asked how he was doing, and he said I'm good or something, but right after that he said something to the effect of not liking my shirt. I laughed and said you an Auburn fan? Well they pay my salary. I said I'm sorry. He said I'm not then I said no I'm sorry about your football program(while I was chuckling). I was trying to civil, but it was hard with this guy. When he went to leave, he asked if he brought an Auburn shirt back would I wear it. I said no but it makes a good bonfire. :)

True story that has nothing to do with this thread, but I wanted to share.

I imagine all of that Aubarn clothing will end up in Haiti just like those Texas National Champion tee shirts did from 2009.

This has been going on for years. Even during 2010. Went into a Bama Fever Team Fever store and the agbarn crap was 50% and 75% off and there was piles of it. Bama stuff was full price and picked through.
