Top of 5th. White strikes out on ankle high pitch, 1 down. Slow roller to first, 2 down. Wells strikes out for the third out. Pickens is eating our lunch and asking for seconds right now. Looks like we picked a bad weekend to have a bad series.
Well we’ve finally had it happen. We out scored UT and lost a series for the first time this year. Hopefully we can rebound this weekend.Top of 7th: Hubbard pinch hits and goes yard to put BAMA on the board. Now 4-1 Tennessee. Taylor reaches. BAMA now has 1 on, no outs. Taylor advances to 2b on wild pitch. Tennessee challenging if Taylor left early. Doesn't look like it, but they're taking a long time. Call stands. Hawkins strikes out swinging at two bad pitches. 1 down. White strikes out with hardly much of a swing. 2 down. Pupillo strikes out to end the game.
BAMA loses their first series of the year. Did you have to lose it to Tennessee? Our ladies need to get in the batting cage. I don't know how you go from scoring 12 runs in game 1 to barely scoring a run in the next two games. If we don't get the 7th inning dinger we get shut out for two straight games. Maybe we got some big heads after game 1. Whatever has gone wrong, we need to fix it. Bad series for BAMA.
Something in the water up there? The men got shellacked by UTe as well, weird coincidence...?
Yeah, those used to come with the cash in the McDonald's bags.steroids?
With the returning pitchers and position players, next year should be fantastic. For all that doubted Murph, Bama is back. Congratulations on a great regular season and much luck into tournament play. BAMA U. I love this team.Sophomore jinx I think. She has taken a step back in every category this season but I expect she will have a big year next year. She is a phenomenal talent. A potential 4, if not not 5, tool player.
Brother, this is the post of the year. We’re about to enter tournament play with at least 3 arms that can compete at a high level. If the offense gets back on track we could make some noise in the post season. RTR.The past teams that made a run in the WCWS have all had one outstanding pitcher. From Jackie Traina to Alexis Osorio to Montana Fouts.
This year's team has two pitchers -- Briski and Moten -- who are really good, but not at the Traina / Osorio / Fouts level. In fairness, Moten is a freshman and might develop to that level. Today, however, she's really good, especially for a freshman.
The pitching staff also seems to have a bit of depth behind the top arms, which a lot of our teams haven't had. Too often, the dropoff from the ace to the next pitcher has been precipitous.
2026 is without question the best team we've had in several years, and it'll be interesting to see how far they can go. Given where we sit right now, I'll be disappointed with anything short of making it to OKC and winning the first game there. After that, we'd be in the winners' bracket and whatever happens happens.
Preseason, I could never have pictured myself writing those last two sentences.
