A good reminder for all of us:

"Like an unchecked cancer, hate corrodes the personality and eats away its vital unity. Hate destroys a man's sense of values and his objectivity. It causes him to describe the beautiful as ugly and the ugly as beautiful, and to confuse the true with the false and the false with the true."

"I believe that unarmed truth and unconditional love will have the final word in reality. This is why right, temporarily defeated, is stronger than evil triumphant."

"Make a career of humanity. Commit yourself to the noble struggle for equal rights. You will make a greater person of yourself, a greater nation of your country, and a finer world to live in."

"If we are to have peace on earth, our loyalties must become ecumenical rather than sectional. Our loyalties must transcend our race, our tribe, our class, and our nation; and this means we must develop a world perspective."

More relevant today than ever.

Amen to this one and we couldn't be farther away from this if we set out to do so. If Republicans said mothers are special and should be honored and respected the Dems would say "come back to me when she can get an abortion any time she wants". If the Dems said apple pie is great and everyone should have a slice on a regular basis the Republicans would claim that apple pie is made with "forever" chemicals and it has too much sugar anyway.
