At 62 years old starting over and getting back to the top is going to be a tough, tough thing to do.
Staring down your age is not an easy task for anyone. It is made more difficult for people who have been highly successful at whatever they have done. I know what he said about being "too damn old" to start over was a bit of a joke with him, but trust me - it does set someone at that age to thinking "am I really too old to do it again?"

It is being reported in Austin on a radio station that Saban closed on a house today...but it was for his son. He is a musician and it was reported he wanted to be on the music scene in Austin? That could have been the flight this morning?

It could also have been the source of the rumors about Terry looking at property in the Austin area.

His son is also named, you guessed it--Nicholas Saban. Seems like these Texas people would do their research. Just because a Nicholas Saban closed on a house, doesn't mean it is CNS.

I'm pretty sure the house in the picture floating around is actually a picture of Matthew Mcconaughey's house. That's what I heard some other folks talking about.

This is getting comical. I'm not wasting any more time or energy fretting over it one way or another. CNS has been great for Bama, a perfect fit in many ways, but if he bails out so be it. Coaches with the football acumen of trained chimpanzees have won 10 games at Alabama and one of them won a conference title. We'll be OK eventually either way.

I'll say this and then no more. As good as he is and and as much as he has accomplished, Saban has one chance and only one to leave a true, lasting legacy and that can only happen if he stays in Tuscaloosa. He may move to Austin and rebuild the 'horns into a contender again, but all that does is reinforce the perception of him as a hired gun in the eyes of most. He has to decide how he wants to be remembered - as a mercenary who will run to the highest bidder or as an icon of the sport that is compared for all time with the likes of Bryant and Rockne. It's up to him at this point.

Google "Matthew McConaughy house". The one posted in the article in question is the same listed as ol' Magic Mike's house.

Can we at least agree to not get worked up over what one radio station in Austin reports?

Lets save our angst for what ever causes Earle angst. :)
