In the five years I was a student, I never once went into the Super Store that's in Tutwiler. They talk about having a couple of ground level stores in the South End Zone. Would it be a good idea to move the Supe Store over in Tutwiler to the SEZ?
The Supe store in Tutwiler needs to stay there. It is one of the few places you can still drive to and park without walking across campus. The stadium is more suited for a novelty/gift store that caters to fans more so than students. They talk about having a couple of ground level stores in the South End Zone. I was thinking the same thing. The fence that is already up is permanent though, and obviously there is the need to move large equipment to and from the field. The largest entrances into the stadium are at the corners, so I'll venture a guess that there will be some time of large gate or temporary fence put there for the games. The construction is still underway, so I'm going to assume that this is not some blatant oversight.Interesting non question that nobody seems to want to ask:
What in the heck is the deal with the open endzone sidelines where there
is no fence? Is this not going to finished and gated up?
Please dont tell me that they are going to leave those areas open.
Honestly if they do leave these areas open do they really think that somebody will not run across the field and enter the playing surface area?
Brasfield & Gorie are located all over, with the headquarters in Birmingham. When going through UA's College of Engineering CO-OP program, I interviewed twice with them, but was unable to get a CO-OP position. The guy I interviewed with had been to UGa, GT, Miss State, Auburn, and a few others over a week's span, trying to hire CO-OPs. Tough position to get. Needless to say, I had to settle for Georgia-Pacific.On another note, driving by the stadium on the way to class it is interesting to see the number of contractors/architects working on our stadium that graduated from rival schools (lots of UGA, AU tags and memorabilia in the B&G parking lot)
Established in 1921 as the Thomas C. Brasfield Company, the Brasfield & Gorrie we know today was formed in 1964, when founder Miller Gorrie purchased Brasfield's construction assets. Since then, B&G has grown steadily, opening full-service Atlanta and Orlando offices in 1985; then adding Raleigh and Nashville in 1998; and in 2007 an office in Jacksonville, Florida. Recently, in 2010, Brasfield & Gorrie added another office in Dallas, Texas.
I supposed an iPhone app could be created that would first check your location via the iPhone's GPS then deliver that information if the location were within the stadium (or just outside of it). It definitely couldn't be done via Wi-Fi, because the credit card machines operate on Wi-Fi and they have a difficult enough time transmitting and receiving data.I think that's the best video Thad has done. Of course, seeing everything nearly finished makes it much more impressive.
One thing I would like to see... some kind of real-time smartphone / iphone / android sophisticated 'web 2.0' stats broadcast just for in-stadium fans.
