The camera should have been on the joy of victory, not the agony of defeat. Timmay Torpedo plays with childish abandon, and responded in the same manner he always does, extreme emotion. I am ecstatic we won, let's focus on the positive and leave the Gators to recover.

I do however take exception to calling TT the "greatest competitor I've ever seen". How about the WR who played 1/4 of the season with a bum shoulder and wrist? How about the fat kid who has dropped 80 lbs just to get his chance to compete in division one? The guy who turned down millions in baseball to play safety? The short DB who nobody wanted but Shula took a chance on? Compared to these journies TT's has been a cake walk.

I'm a Tebow fan and I think he's a great kid, but that being said, Perhaps.. John 11:35..would have been a better choice for the eye black today.

I will say this: classy fans revel in the victory of their team and the joy that brings to the players. Scum revel in the misery of others. So yeah, some of you are scum. I am glad to beat Tim Tebow because Tim Tebow is a great player and Florida is a great team. The media over hyped him yes. But I do not wish him ill. I hope he is very successful in the future, and I hope he continues to reach people and spread the good news.
Great post.

I agree he is a great kid. Tebow is a fine competitor. But, when you put yourself out there like he does your going to get praise for the good things you do and criticism for the dumb things you do.
It's not his fault for what the media does, but when he jumps around when he wins he needs to take it like a man when he loses. It's not about him. That is what I have never liked about him and don't shield him from his just due.

LOL..we`ve won the SEC and are going to play for the NC and one of the longest threads on the board is about a man crying because we beat them.:biggrin2:

These comments are quite confusing to the issue. What does "take it like a man" mean? How does he "put himself out there?" Outside of the fact that some obviously believe he jilted us in the recruiting battle, the issue seems to be "who has created the Tebow lovefest... Tim or the media?" I'm saying it's primarily the media... and they do that with every single person in any sport who possesses an extreme drive/determination.

Look I didn't hate Michael Jordan... but the way the media portrayed him, I got sick of hearing about him on an every-broadcast basis. And, when he got beat, I took joy in the matter. However, at the end of the day, if you weren't able to respect MJ's accomplishments and determination, you missed the boat. As one other poster put it though, can't believe we have to endure another TT thread where this stuff gets beaten to death again.

In my opinion this thread should be locked. It is classless for us to poke fun at someone who did nothing but show emotion.

Thanks for this post. I was about to log in and post the same message, but you said it very well.

I was extremely proud of our guys for playing hard, and knocking off a great Florida team. I was happy that we won, and happier still that we dominated Florida because they have been about as good as you can be the last 2 years.

Tim is a great player, and even with the media attentions he's gotten, I still enjoy watching him play. I will enjoy watching him in the NFL also. I was thrilled that our team showed what it was made of and beat him in their last opportunity to do so. If we had never been able to beat him, it would have left a sour taste in a lot of people's mouths - right or wrong.

The joy I got was in seeing how our team played and won, not in seeing Tim cry.

I'm a sore loser and a worse winner. Tebow will make his fortune on endorcements, not so much pro ball. I understand an offer from Keelnex is on the table. I'm glad to see him go but,,,,,, it has been an honor to be around to see (what and how) he did for football.

IMHO if St Timmy is the leader everyone says he is; then MAN UP... lead by example; you have nothing to be ashamed of; hold your head high. The tears are just too much....

I really respect Tebow and his crying just shows how much he cares. Everybody has an opinion but i feel he is a good person and a champion and i think most Bama fans respect him. I surely am not going to make fun of the man.
