That's exactly what I've been anticipating, especially since the side mobility of their LBs needs to be tested. That running to the sideline almost every play gets really old for the big guys pretty quickly...I wonder if we'll see an offensive game plan a bit like OM - play really wide in the first half in order to soften up the middle for later in the game.
Isn't that pretty much our entire 2016 game plan?I wonder if we'll see an offensive game plan a bit like OM - play really wide in the first half in order to soften up the middle for later in the game.
Yah, for the most part, though OM seems like it was exceptionally so. We played really wide the entire first half to wear them out - I don't recall us doing it to that extent in the rest of the games. But maybe that's just my perception...Isn't that pretty much our entire 2016 game plan?
i don't really mind the side to side stuff. it does tire the d out. also, ardarius is stupid quick cutting up-field when sees a seam. we only need a couple of those where the lb's miss an assignment or are just a step too slow. That's exactly what I've been anticipating, especially since the side mobility of their LBs needs to be tested. Not only quick, he's straight-line, sub-4.4 fast too, once he makes that cut, and he's a former primarily running QB. You tend to remember than once he takes off upfield...i don't really mind the side to side stuff. it does tire the d out. also, ardarius is stupid quick cutting up-field when sees a seam. we only need a couple of those where the lb's miss an assignment or are just a step too slow.
The jet sweep was very effective the last half of the season. It is a good strategy now to even those big critics of the jet sweep earlier in the year.i don't really mind the side to side stuff. it does tire the d out. also, ardarius is stupid quick cutting up-field when sees a seam. we only need a couple of those where the lb's miss an assignment or are just a step too slow.
It, together with the reverse off it, given our speed, is enough to make a DC tear his hair out...The jet sweep was very effective the last half of the season. It is a good strategy now to even those big critics of the jet sweep earlier in the year.
The rise of Southeastern football in general and Alabama football specifically and all the endless gloating that goes along with it? It's Washington's fault.
So the narrative comes full circle in this brief, neglected but eventful series between proud programs, once again featuring one team rising and one established. Where Alabama once traveled West as a massive underdog to prove itself to a skeptical national audience, now the Huskies head South to Atlanta to test themselves against the game's greatest coach, leading perhaps his best team.
I know that's simply metric, but OSU with only 11? That's surprising.Saw this graphic during halftime of one of the games today. Kind of puts the talent level of the teams into perspective..

Being fully self-aware - this is why we (I) may come across as arrogant at times when combined with the results on the field since 2008. OTOH, I remember the days when we decried the rankings like this and generally were disappointed in the final results and so I really can understand where the Huskies fans are coming from: on a given day.... True, but if the far superior team comes ready to play on that day...Washington has some players, no doubt. Alabama has them in spades. I don't believe they've forgotten 2014. OSU had some players on that team, too. Any way you slice it Alabama should win this game.Saw this graphic during halftime of one of the games today. I really am surprised that this angle hasn't been worked more by the press. However, I'm an OF, so I was probably more aware of it...
I really despaired of his hands at first, particularly after being spoiled by Mullaney, but he's really come on strong...I think when it comes to Deiter for some reason he needed to catch up to the speed of the SEC. He had a lot of dropped balls but as been said, he's really come on strong and found his way in the offense and on the team period. If I'm not mistaken he plays special teams. Great asset Bama picked up with him. He now has a knack for getting open in the end zone.

Yeah, the coaches kept believing in him and he's rewarded them with his play.I really despaired of his hands at first, particularly after being spoiled by Mullaney, but he's really come on strong...
These whippersnappers just think they know it all. And many of them are too lazy to do research. Or go beyond general platitudes. And many don't have the first clue about x's and o's (and it shows). History? That's in the past, they say. (Barners love that line until reminded of the present)I really am surprised that this angle hasn't been worked more by the press. When I started to Bama, that game was a mere 31 years in the past. Think 1985...These whippersnappers just think they know it all. And many of them are too lazy to do research. On a side note, every time I see OF I have to remind myself the first thing that comes to mind is not what you intended. Darn you, internet, for putting those thoughts in my head!![]()
