Strange post for a beginner. Your future? The rest of the season? The rest of time?
I think you, along with everyone else, are misinterpreting what he meant. Using context clues, by "future" he seemed to mean "the immediate future," as in this very season.

Settle down folks. He may not have worded it the best, but I don't think he meant 3 or 4 years down the road we're in trouble if we don't make changes NOW. Makes sense, yes?

For what it's worth, he's right. If this team doesn't adjust and make some changes, when Tennessee comes calling and LSU down the road, the team will be in trouble... if they do make the adjustments, this team has a realistic shot to win the West... who would have thought that before the year? Should LSU and Auburn both lose tonight, that chance is real if the team makes some much needed adjustments...

For a complete reply, you don't know what he meant. I asked questions. We have many rival fans who come under false color and ask questions which portend that the sky is falling, if we don't fire the present staff. I've seen hundreds and they start like his. Don't presume to speak for him, OK?

I am very excited about the future, both the Tides and mine.

We're 5-2 and could very well be 7-0 with less on-field talent (in my opinion) than even ole sis....

I also see ALOT of heart in the guys, no quit........ again in my opinion

I'm glad the "dean" of officials was in the house...
I have to ask...why?

I don't see much difference in the level of competence in any of the SEC officials, no matter how long they've been screwing up our football games.

I would say instead, I'm glad the coach and staff on our side had the intelligence to know when the "Dean" blew it, the cajones to make them look at it again (and again), and the maturity to keep it from being a personal issue between them and the refs.

In this conference, you have to come prepared to play the other team AND the refs. Thankfully Saban seems to know that.

I meant that some of the errors today couldn't have escaped his attention. I don't really know that it'll do any good...
OHHHHH!!! (can't find the smacks-myself-upside-the-head smiley)

Then yeah, I agree on both counts.:BigA:

I'm still baffled by the punt that was ruled originally down at the one. What is the rule in college? He caught the ball on a bounce and went into the end zone with the ball in his hand. shouldn't that be an automatic touchback even if he didn't have a foot on the line?

So am i. I have been watching college foot ball for over 40 years and my initial reaction was why did the ref even try to say he downed it. To me it was very obviously a touchback. And it seemed like it took them 5 minutes to make up their mind. I was thinking Why is this taking so long its obviously a touchback.

Is there some new rule or something i dont know about?

If an offensive player goes out of bounds without being forced out of bounds by the defensive player - he becomes an ineligible receiver; but practically speaking he does NOT become ineligible to participate, i.e., the Ole Miss player returned to the field to take the interception away from the Alabama defensive player (Mitchell) who also went out of bounds but as a DEFENSIVE player would not have been ruled ineligible to intercept the pass.

However if a receiver is deemed to have been forced out of bounds by a defensive player he is eligible to return to the field as an eligible receiver.

I can think of a couple of ways that replay review might have gone differently.
