Tubbs is not leaving. I know we all want him to leave, but I do not believe that he's going to leave for any job and this win over Alabama secured that for him. There's a better chance that he'll retire, and we all know that he won't do that.
I hope he don't leave! He's a very good coach, but he's been dominating a wounded program for the past 6 years. That sounds like and is an excuse, but it's the truth! No doubt we should have won at least a few of those games, including this year, but we didn't. The fact is when Saban gets his feet under him at Bama, there will be no more excuses for us or cake walks for Tubbs. I hope he sticks around a little while longer to really taste what the Bama/Barn rivalry is truly and fairly all about. That is, if he's man enough! ;) rtr

I guess the best way is to look at the weakest positions on the team and go from there. I would hope that some of the Red Shirts have a very good chance to shine but would also think that if they were good enough to play they would have ie. R. McClain. So back to the main point is that we need great talent to come in this year, but that being said so does everyone. I think one more in the middle at LB, two at DB, one or two at least on the DL all need to step in and get ready to play. On the O side line is wide open for change, RB is looking good and we have a few I look forward to next year, and WR is a Big time ?,

I think with the off season we can get the O-line together and if they can gel together we may have a chance, regardless of the O-line coming together a mobile QB would be very nice, even if it is situational.

We need some Leaders on this team.

O-line needs to improve. D-line needs to improve.

QB play needs to change drastically.

I see a 7-5 year ahead.

I think we will be ok once we get those Shula minded guys who aren't commited to winning out of here!!

This coaching staff has shown that they have an eye for young talent. With our monster recruiting class coming in, I wouldn't be surprised if we see a a lot of rsf (Maze,Griffin etc) and tf get a significant amount of playing time.

I honestly feel that this year was a "sophomore slump" for JP in his Junior year (his 2nd full season as a starter). He had to learn an entirely new offensive scheme while trying to rely on an offensive line that was being constantly shifted around (suspension.injury). I feel that he is going to rebound next year and finish strong.

I'm betting that we will see more of CMA offense next year. Not sure if Jackson will start at QB, but I bet that he will be sprinkled in there to add a new demension to the offense.

DMacs mom stated earlier in the year that he was not returning to college ball next year, I haven't heard him say for sure but all signs point to him declaring for the draft, as they say Momma knows best...

I don't think she wants to wait any longer for a house and a car.

Next year I am "from Missouri." No more Crimson Kool-Ade. No more "We are Alabama." If we have a winning season I'll believe it when I see it. Show me. I am from Missouri.

If we beat Mississippi State next year, I'll believe it when I see it.

Brighter days are ahead! We have the best coach to get this thing turned around. I have confidence in Coach Saban and his staff, unlike when we hired Dubose, Price, or Shula. I never felt good about any of those hires. I DO about this one. We just have to give him an opportunity to recruit and "deal" with the players he has now.

I feel like winter weight training and spring practice will be like an old fashioned revival. A good "cleansing" will take place and I welcome this!

JPW wont be seeing the field next year if Star Jackson has something to say about it.
JPW may (and should) be a victim of the handful of "iffy" underclassmen whose scholarships were supposedly riding on how they grade out in the Iron Bowl. He simply has horrible field vision. He never looks to a second receiver.

I don't want him to leave. I don't know many Alabama fans at all that would like to see him leave.
If you hoping that Bama can do to them what they have done to us (the streak) I don't see that happening. I do see us starting to even things out with us winning one and them winning one. Our best chance is for Auburn to go through some problems like we've had to deal with...then maybe a streak is in order.

I expect a younger qb to take over whether its NF or possibly SJ. I think if it GMac was even close to being where he needs to be, he would have played/subbed for JPW this year in some games. He didn't and that says something. I think it will be Fanuzzi.
I'm hopeful that we will have a QB who will 'claim' the starting spot and fight for it. And by that, I mean exemplify leadership. Make it 'his team'. This team hasn't had that at all.

It will be a very young team, I think heavily sprinkled with Coach Sabans recruits with some more experienced players in key positions.

I expect these guys to play a big role next year, because most of them broke into the rotation this year at times. Some are Sabans recruits, some are XCMS recruits.

Kareem Jackson-DB- solid year for a true freshman
Rolo McClain- LB- exciting player and looks to be a leader
Mike McCoy-WR- quietly had a good year as a true freshman
Mike Johnson-OL- started in most games
Patrick Crump-OL
Wm. Vlachos- OL
Chavis Williams-DE
Luther Davis-DL

Signing day hasn't arrived yet, and Saban has only had one class, and that one was three quarters full when he arrived and he added to it and tweaked it a bit.

I think if all the guys we are projected to get for 2008 actually sign, there will be quite a few playing as true freshman, particularly at the DB and LB spots on defense and WR and RB spots on offense. I do think it would be unlikely for SJ to come in and play immediately at qb because of learning the playbook, but not impossible. Again I think Fanuzzi will play qb. Just my opinion of course, I have no insight.
I'm not writing next year off due to youth, but no matter how good these young players are, it may not and probably will not translate to wins immediately. I'm okay with that for now, knowing that they will grow and learn together to do things the right way under Coach Saban and they will be the groundworks for a new and brighter era for Alabama football.

It seems Auburn recruiting has been growing cold since last year. Last year many of their recruits didn't qualify. This year Saban has gotten first dibs on many great high school athletes while Auburn seems to be looking at what's left on the table.

The '08 game might be a better game. But lackluster recruiting will finally catch up with Tubs in '09.

I just hope that Roy U. goes into the spring No. 1 on the depth chart. He is hands down the hardest runner on the team.

The SEC is turning into an Offensive League, so the offense needs to do some serious gellin' in the off-season. I don't expect there to be any lock down defenses next year, and our's won't be either.

I expect more of the same as this year - close games. But hopefully a new mindset turns us around and we win more close ones.:biggrin2:
