I very nearly left not long ago. My apologies to all who are disappointed. I don't know what I'll do long term.
I’ve always been under the “when it’s no longer fun for me I’ll leave” commitment here. To which the answer has kinda gotten more and more “I’m getting to that point”. Has nothing to do with CNS retiring or the change in football. It has more to do with the change in me and the change in the board.

But I really think there have been only a very small amount of posters that I jumped for joy when they left or were forced to leave.

It is the political landscape that has changed the board.

I haven't seen B1GTide post on NS since before AWRTR joined. I wish he were still posting. He's very intelligent and very passionate. A good man. I suspect he just made a personal decision to stay more on the sports boards. It's very tempting.

He was posting right around when I joined. I read the board for a while before joining and he was really active. I agree he’s a cool guy. I like his contributions. He’s great on the FB board.

My engagement in society is waning, religion too. But my faith is deepening. We have moved into an era of individualism. We are no longer concerned about our fellow man, neighbor, invested in a team oriented goal. I find myself daydreaming of a retreat in the country just because by the end of the week I'm tired of being around people.

I think this forum (NS) has changed a lot in 8 years, and it’s a reflection of the changes in our society.
For the first time in history (I know recent but probably the country’s complete), we have a former President who’s running again saying there will be a “bloodbath” if he isn’t reelected.
So many questions …
Why do people tolerate this? No one can just assume he’s joking - look what happened on January 6 after “fight like hell”…people died, many injured and lots of costly damage.
If there is any violence, after he loses, perpetrated by his brain-dead followers on anyone who’s not a Trumper, he should be held personally responsible.

In the same speech, he also said that if Biden is elected we would likley bever have elections again. He is always telegraphing what he is going to do pinning it on other people. Yet so few have figured this out. If he is elected, he will suspend elections, then there will be riots. He will then say see I told you so. Im trying to save the country from the evil Democrats... As long as they are out there we can't have elections.

two things he is “good” at; projection, and creating a massive crap show then claiming he’s the only one who can fix it

This board was a clown show back in the 2000s

Talking about the auto industry. MSDNC spin doesn’t change that. It’s breathtaking how dishonestly this is being presented. Then again, no it isn’t. Give people what they want, I guess.

They stated that the Trump campaign had clarified that the specific comment was nominally about the auto industry.

They just also put the comment in the larger context of the rally itself, the entire speech, not to mention Trump's political career. Exactly how was that dishonest?

Would you rather they point out how mind-bogglingly stupid a 100% tarriff on imported cars would be? Speaking of bloodbaths...
