I've had season tickets for several years now and I must say that was THE LOUDEST game i've ever been to at Bryant Denny. I applaud our fans for finally stepping up and getting loud when it was necessary
It was loud. Read the posts of the people who were there vs trusting CBS. It was louder than any game I've been at including 2005 Florida and the 1993 Sugar Bowl.I watched it on TV & thought the crowd noise was dissappointing. Didn't seem loud to me except when Javier ran the punt back. It seemed everytime they would pan the camera & show the crowd, Bama fans were not even cheering, just standing around.
I agree, BDS is as loud as anywhere for big games and big plays. Humans occupy BDS just like any other stadium. There's no difference. The main difference might be in crowd noise for podunk state, but for the big ones, all major stadiums are essentially the same.I don't understand why this comment gets made after every big home game. It wasn't loud for UT two weeks ago? For GA? It wasn't loud when Bama went up on Arkansas, and then when they came back and won the game?
Granted, it didn't get very loud at last year's games; but what do you expect? Look at who they played at home and what was happening on the field.
In 2005, the big home games were FL, UT, and LSU. From my seats, it got pretty DARN LOUD during those games.
I can recall comments from DuBose, Franchione, Shula, AND Saban about how great the crowd was for particular games in B-D. Over the years since we've started playing all games in Tuscaloosa, players have made the same comments.
Compare it to other schools all you want; but it falls on deaf ears with me. If it's a big game, it's loud in B-D. Anyone recall the look on Urban Meyer's face when B-D rocked back and forth with Rammer Jammer? People say that Florida is one of the rowdiest crowds in the country. That look on Meyer's face tells you how loud it gets in Bryant-Denny.
Off my soapbox now . . .
