You're in the minority but I agree with you.

Our fanbase has very short memories.

Last week everyone wanted a QB change and a decent bowl to get started for 2025.

Bama beats a mediocre AU team at home and everyone is feverishly calculating how to see more of #4 vs a Top 5 team on the road.

What's changed from last week to now?

Nothing has changed.
Actually a great deal has changed.

We did win against AU. After the OU game, I didn’t think we would do that. I figured the team had cratered mentally. Turns out they didn’t.

Also, Miami and Clemson lost. Georgia should have lost. I don’t see many teams less flawed than we are. It’s close enough that we actually do have a legit shot at a playoff berth.

In conclusion, I am of a mind to compete, if we have the chance, rather than fold up and go to the house. Warts be damned.

Things external to us have changed but nothing internal has changed.

Nothing will change internally until will have roster movement.

Everyone clamoring to try and jam this team into the playoffs is equivalent to people who can't stop buying lottery tickets.

Bama getting out of a 1st round road game is about the same odds and it will delay us getting young players valuable playing time before 2025.

No one clamoring. If we are going to have a 12 team playoff then let’s have one. And since we are, then you tell me why Alabama doesn’t deserve to get a spot compared to Ole Miss, South Carolina, or Miami.

I am not saying there are no arguments to be made for those teams. I’m simply saying there is a discussion to be had.

Internal team issues do not disqualify a team from the playoff. We don’t know what issues Ole Miss have. Because losing to Kentucky at home is worse than losing to OU on the road.

When the season is truly over, or rather, when the playoff field is set and we are not in it, then we can talk about building for next year. I’m all for resetting the roster ahead of the bowl game and using the 15 practices to get a jump start on 2025.

But we are not eliminated yet.

No one has a short memory. Yeah, last week a lot of us were calling for a qb change which most of us were calling for after the spring game. WE were consistent.

WE realize that CKD in no way, shape or form has what he needs to actually run his offense - starting with not having the right qb.

Yes, WE are glad we beat AU regardless of if they are a mediocre team or #1 in the country simply because they are AU.

If you're done with Alabama football then be done all the way............

And yes, we do want a decent bowl so we can get extra practice and start working on next season.

Yet another referendum on Milroe - what?, the 45th such thing at 'Bama's expense in the last month, yet another case of not seeing the forest for the screeds. "Please don't let us make the CFB playoffs so Milroe will be NILgo." Boy, the hate sure do run deep for many of y'all Tide fanbase.
Yeah, I am ready for the post Milroe era, but I would no way turn down a trip to the playoffs.

I really don't understand the exchange above. A bowl game, much less a playoff game, has always been valued as the opportunity to get more young players extra practice time, a luxury AU doesn't have, for example...
Wait so the 2's are allowed to practice also for playoff games??

I think the thought is that if it is a playoff game, all the players are in to win to see how far they can go. If it's a bowl game, we could have a lot of opt-outs and in that case we would be able to get even more of head start on next year since a lot of the 'next man up' guys would be getting more practice and game reps than they would if it's a playoff game.

GOOD. We Won
BAD.... Milroe fumbled three times and threw an interception.
UGLY... Referees reached a new low.

I've got to say it. AUBURN WAS UNBELIEVABALY BAD.

I appreciate the help, but it turns out I didn't remember the play properly. In my head, both sides got penalties but Auburn got the first down because both got enforced. I had come up with this whole narrative because I missed the part where no Auburn player was penalized. How could Auburn not get one right there, right? I knew they got one, just knew it. Never questioned it. [Eta:] When they called out Malachi first, I started asking questions of the TV, missing the second call.

In conclusion, I'm an idiot who was not paying proper attention. Nothing to see, unless you like seeing me make a fool of myself. If so, let me link my YouTube channel 🤣
