Charmin, this has definitely been interesting to read. I applaud your willingness to answer these questions in an honest manner. Many people like to use parts of the bible that support their personal convictions. I believe that above all, God wants us to love each other as He loves us. Therefore, I do not hate those that are different from me. The only person I have any control over is myself. I don't really have a question. I don't quite understand the gay attraction, but then, I don't really have to...
Thanks! :)

Does thinking about a girl, being sexy you know doing her thing, really not turn you on at all?
Um, eww.

It does absolutely nothing for me. I get lap dances from the ladies at parties or clubs, and while I obviously like the attention, it doesn't turn me on in the slightest. I imagine a lap dance from a guy wouldn't turn you on either. ;)

This has to do with fashion. Is it still taboo to wear white shoes after Labor Day and before Easter?

Follow up: What if the shoes (yes, they're scrumptious) are really more of a say oh, "dusty pearl" than white? Please say no..

Thanks,
JPT

Okay I have an important question. It's scientifically proven that women naturally have bisexual tendencies, at least by the experiments I've conducted. So why are so many gay men exclusively gay? I truly believe the only thing stopping most women from being bisexual is social norms. But gay people don't care about social norms. I know I gay guy who is fine having intimate relations with girls, it's just like a slumber party gone wrong. But it's not that common. Does thinking about a girl, being sexy you know doing her thing, really not turn you on at all?
Freud held that all humans, male and female, were had the innate ability to be bisexual, but our sexuality is shaped by cultural and societal values and norms. I imagine that some of this has to do with cultural acceptance.

But I am interested in what charmin has to say

I am also an Episcopalian and struggle with the movement within the church to ordain homosexuals. I am not that much against letting them marry as long as they conduct themselves properly in public by that I mean act no different than the normal man woman relationship in public. I have several gay friends and shun none of them, my wife's best friend is gay, we have vacationed with a gay couple and I always have a good time around them. I actually like watching Bravo network just for the drama and laughs. I have been to gay bars (with my wife) and had a ball so I am not anti gay just against the flaming Nellies, Transvestites and having them ordained as my priest.

carry on. ;)

Yeah, I am not so opposed to homosexual marriage either-at least in the civil sense. I have argued for it on these boards. Of course I am one of those people who has no issues with the ordination of women, and see it as a seperate issue than the ordination of homosexuals.

In fact, if it was not for Romans 1, Christ's teaching on marriage in the Gospels, and the description of marriage given in Ephesians, what grounds would any religious believe have to arguing marriage is only between a man and a woman?

Leviticus 18:22?-only if you are not wearing any cotton a polyester blends, and stay off the pork chops.

OK, OK. I must confess. I don't own or have ever own (other than baby shoes or sneakers) white shoes.

It was the only question I could come up with. :biggrin2: Plus since it was asked in a stereo-typified context (all in fun), I will offer CharminTide one likewise, stereotyped ask-an-Italian question in return.

I do agree though that white is a stunning color.

I have a pair of New Balance running shoes that used to be white. Over the years they've sort of become discolored due to cutting the grass, stepping in dog poop by accident - you know, the usual stuff people do.

They're actually disgusting.

Just about any guy growing up in the 50s owned at least one pair of these. ;)

True white (except for shirts and blouses) is not usually worn after Labor Day, but “winter” white colors that range from ecru to eggshell are very popular.

The "put away your whites after Labor Day" rule originally referred only to white shoes and white purses. For some reason some people extended it to no white anything. Many chic dressers are breaking this rule. It is obsolete.

LATER: I must have killed the thread with the technical fashion talk! Seriously, I never wear white shoes (whatever season) except to the gym. I think they make women's feet look bigger and men look mostly tacky.

Why does it appear that many gays view non-gays as intellectually and socially inferior? I haven't noticed that from you personally but there have been other gay posters here in the past that seemed to feel as though this board and the south in general engaged in groupthink fellatio. I find that to be a rather non-flattering viewpoint. How about you?

It is the bigots that are intellectually inferior.
