Oh, Tennessee is gonna respect us, but still hate us.Everything Bayou stated and let me add I'd love to see the rivalry return to its glory days but that can't happen til the utee people,to use a current term, show Bama some respect! And that probably ain't gonna happen in my lifetime!
Chizik just might be the one they select. He may be a good coach, but it did not show at Iowa State. He has only won five games in two years; and still winless in the Big 12 conference. Not exactly a gleaming track record.I am going to make my prediction (serious) about the barners new HC. After hearing all the names it is my opinion that the best they can do now is Gene Chizik. While I do not think this is in any way a homerun for them he is not a bad coach and he should be aware of the dynamics and politics associated with their football program. He will have to find an offensive staff capable of playing in the SEC which is going to be a tall order.
If you think it was melting down then you should check it out now. And it will only get worse as this Chizik to AU thing picks up steam. If it actually comes through the governer needs to post national guardsmen to all bridges and tall buildings. :eek2:This one takes the cake .

Yeah, concerning environment, I thought that this fact pointed out in Low's ESPN blog was telling.Tommy Hicks' column in the Mobile - Register comes close, but doesn't completely describe the poisonous environment the next AU coach steps into. Whoever he turns out to be, he'd better have the right stuff and he'd better have the strength of will to put the meddlers in their places.
I am laying 11 to 5 odds that they don't get that guy, this time.
As most of us know from personal experience, if you tell somebody this soon after a job interview (b/c you had to have some interest in order to come all the way out for an interview) that you're not interested in the position, then either something about it didn't seem right or it just sounded like an awful job or something else that I haven't yet experienced.A few coaches who've gone through that process are now starting to wonder privately who's making the call.
TCU's Gary Patterson is no longer interested after interviewing on Thursday.
Yeah, I laughed out loud when I saw that they had hired Chizik!!! :rofl:2-10 in the Big-12 this year - and they didn't play Texas, Texas Tech or Oklahoma!
Ah, 20-20 hindsight. At the time, this was no where near the debacle of the Auburn hire of Chizik. Franchione was winning at TCU and was considered one of the up-and-coming coaches. Chizik is 5-19 in only 2 years as a head coach and wouldn't get an interview at any other major program.I'm sorry, but go back to the DuBose replacement if you want to see a DuBacle. And for us it ONLY GOT WORSE!!
Butch Davis - never mind
Frank Beamer - never mind
Tommy Bowden - never mind
(All 3 got huge raises out of that)
Jackie Sherrill - called a press conference to say he wasn't going - the fact the job was not even going to be offered to him
So we wound up with a second-tier guy who had no class.
