This comes from a FB site called "College Football Troll." It isn't anything we haven't heard, but it does confirm what we have heard.
College Football Troll is a satire page. They might be mostly on the mark here, but in general, i wouldn't trust much that comes from that page. It's typically a mix of facts and exaggeration.

Probably at 35k or in an airport somewhere
CNS believed in players' creating value for themselves. In that construct, the effort always precedes the reward, and, I'd suggest, a correct attitude almost always precedes the effort. In the words of Zig Ziglar, you have to be before you can do, and do before you can have.

"NIL" in its current form reverses the natural order, with predictable results to individual and team character...

Successful college coaches will have to to have a similar mentality to successful pro coaches.

Thanks for the heads up on the typical posts from that site.

I always take anything on Facebook with a grain of salt; however, in this case, their post aligns with what we've heard CNS say...maybe not a step-by-step commentary on his retirement, but he's made references to all of these concerns.

What I'm about to write probably fits as well in the thread about a "new mindset" regarding CFB/Bama, but I am strictly trying to focus on that 3.5 hours (most) every Fall Saturday and pay zero attention to all the "noise/rat poison" such as transfers, NIL,. Obviously, I still enjoy the games themselves but 99% of the other stuff I try to avoid. That may be a strange or even "dumb" mindset but I'm gonna try it for 2025 at least and see how it goes.

I get it. I used to keep up with recruiting and spring practice very closely. Now I pay almost no attention. I'll figure out the roster as fall camp ends. At least I won't be wasting my time on guys who won't even be there. Unless a freshman is playing I don't really care about him because there is a good chance he won't be there in two years.

The thing is that NIL is supposed to compensate the athletes for the use of their Name, Image or Likeness.

I'm just not seeing much commercial use of their Name, Image or Likeness.

Am I missing something here...?
I've been wondering that same thing from the very start. NIL stands for name, image, and likeness on paper, wink wink

The one reason my "not really that interested anymore" self would like to see DeBoer win it all this year is because watching the cycle of dismissal has been hilarious.

DeBoer wins one out of the chute and the exact same clowns who right now say, "Saban quit because NIL leveled the playing field" will go into a double-jointed argument:
1) Alabama is paying players
2) DeBoer inherited Saban's players

....both of which are preposterous in the NIL/Transfer Portal era.
