All this talk of golf and this gorgeous sunshine is making me yearn to go hit a few myself....golfballs Riz, golfballs!
You're right. I misheard the announcer when they were going over the clips from Watson. Here's the link to his comments. ArticleIt was actually Tom Watson who voiced those criticisms of Tiger. I expect some of you will read something extra into that fact, too.
I don't have a preferred image. It is what it is. A game played by men for piles of cash. No better or worse than any other game played by men for piles of cash. What would be your preferred image of golf?
Money has changed all sports, I don't know if I would necessarily say for the better or not, but to each his own. And technology has more to do with scores dropping than anything else. The courses have been made to be more difficult as a result of the game being easier than it used to be as a result of the technology cheaply and readily available today. Seen anyone playing with a persimmon driver lately?
I find it rather boring to watch when he is not playing. I really enjoy watching it when he is there.Explain this to me.
Edit: And why does Tiger playing make it worth watching?
Same here, and I don't know why. I love to watch golf but haven't watched a minute since he stepped away...I find it rather boring to watch when he is not playing. I really enjoy watching it when he is there.
I began playing about 10 years ago, I have followed him since I really got into the sport.
I can't really explain why. I just enjoy watching Tiger play golf.
I'm interested in watching him hold court for a few minutes in an effort to repair his reputation. I will like watching him squirm (to the extent what little conscience he has allows him to squirm). What he needs to do is shut up, just play golf and keep playing around on his wife, the things at which he's obviously very skilled.
Go with your strengths and all that.:biggrin2:
If he doesn't, do we have to go through an extra week of therapy? So what happened? Did he come out of hiding? I heard that if he sees his shadow we get an extra week of spring break.
His "apology" will be accepted or rejected by people as is everything else in life - we see and hear what we want to see and hear. He stumbled through almost 20 minutes of apologies and pleas to leave his wife and children out of it. He took full responsibility, then said that he was going back into treatment. He said that he is going to play golf again, but that he has no timetable.
He said that his apologies mean nothing without action (no, riz - not that kind of action :biggrin...
You make my case for me. I didn't say that I believed a word - but you see and hear what you want to...You bought all that crap? Wish I could have knocked on your door when I was trying to sell vacuum cleaners door to door.
I heard that he said he was a practicing Buddhist. You bought all that crap? Wish I could have knocked on your door when I was trying to sell vacuum cleaners door to door.
Very well written speech and I'm sure he was coached to look directly into the camera and pause briefly at key points. The speech came across very sincere and he said everything he needed to the way he needed to. He was probably coached very well over the past week or so. His PR team did a pretty good job. They wrote him a good speech.
I saw where celebrity atty Gloria Allred immediately called a press conference, complete with a porn star who says Tiger done her wrong. The speech came across very sincere and he said everything he needed to the way he needed to. Did you mean that Allred's clients are celebrities or that she's the celebrity? Sometimes, I have a hard time telling.I saw where celebrity atty Gloria Allred immediately called a press conference, complete with a porn star who says Tiger done her wrong.
Good heavens, the woodwork creaks and out come the freaks.
