tonight's game

Wow, I thought for once, we wouldn't lose every mildly challenging road game we played...
Typical CMG team. Unable to win consistently on the road - even against inferior opponents. We have no chance of winning a NC with CMG, but we will be respectable every year and win the occasional game in the playoffs.

This is why I don't post on this board very often. Only winning at home will never be enough for me. Mediocrity...

Remaining SEC losses:

@LSU
@Florida
kentucky
@Ole miss
South Carolina

Assuming they lose @ Miss St, does a 21-9 (8-8 SEC) Bama team make it into the tourney? Keep in mind 1-8 on the road. I would think they should but, the committee might not like the road record and conference record. Especially if LSU, Arkansas, UT, KY, UF, Ole Miss, and Vandy finish above .500.

Basketball is a very streaky sport for the most part. Who knows the mindset of the guys now. I still believe we can make a deep run in the tourny, just never really believed we would make the final 4.

But who thought UF would win it all last year? Other than the staunchest UF fans. But in this day of parity you never know, it is what it is. We are still a football school are we not? Basketball got put back in its rightfull place after we hired coach Saban, like it or not!:rolleyes:

79-67 Vandy with Foster going to the line to shoot 3 free throws; looks like Vandy is going to stretch the lead back out again; I just hope they don't hang a C-note on us.

Not a chance. Some might call it negativity, I call it being realistic. This team will be lucky to finish 9-7. We'll win the home games and might steal one on the road.

This is like the Elite 8 MG team all over. The opponent (@ their home) shoots its best game of the year against Bama and Bama gets blown out on the road. What gives?

That team had this same crap happen to them all year. DeJa Vu.

Seems to me like CMG has a tough time getting the team fired up and ready to play on the road. Tonight at Clemson I thought North Carolina was going to struggle, but I remembered that they are well coached and that their coach would have them ready to play. I like CMG as much as the next guy, but we can't win on the road for nothin.

Why do we continue to play Steele so much when it is obvious that he slows us down? Is a partially healthy Steele better than %100 Hollinger? We are the sloppiest team in the top 10, without a doubt. And this is a Vandy team that lost to Auburn. It's one thing to get beat, its another to have your hat handed to you. Why can't we get the ball inside to our guys with out it being battted around or fumbled? Don't we practice this?

I also wonder if it would have benefited the team more, in the long run, to have sat Steele out at the beginning of the year and bring him back when he was 100%.

Looks like not doing that is hurting us more than it would have if we did
