Trey Depriest Suspended

The operative phrase here is pour encourager les autres.

An example is being made of DePriest, and the younger players had best learn. I'll take a one week suspension well in advance of the season opener if it wakes some people up.

This sounds like the kind of short suspension you get for showing up late to a meeting or something of that nature. No biggie. Needs punishment but nothing to really worry about, I would assume.

Really, one week suspension for being late to a meeting??? IDK, but I think that something like that would be punished with some extra running, etc.

Apparently nobody knows or if they do they can't say, but I suspect it's something a little more serious than being late for a meeting. JMO.

Unless he has been late to multiple meetings and this is his wake up call. To your point, we don't know what's going on behind the scenes, so it is impossible to know what the story is.

Let this be a lesson to every player on our team, no matter if you're a true freshman or a veteran senior. You do NOT take an oatmeal creme pie without asking!

Wait a minute! Did CNS make this decision all by himself? That can't be right - I thought the team had to vote on things like this!;)

But it's good that M. Faciane is back after suspension. Hope he's learned his lesson, which I'm sure he has.

Hopefully this won't carry over into the actual start of the season. This is the frustrating part about suspensions that occur outside of the season. I never can tell if it means the suspension starts right at that moment, or if it goes into effect once the season begins.

Bravo OS!

Nicely done...

And so early in the morning, to boot... :)

I'm not so worried about our linebackers because we have depth there, but It just concerns me that a guy who is supposed to be a team leader has gotten distracted. Where is his focus? Where is the teams focus? It would be a shame to see a team this talented fail to reach it's potential just because of a lack of focus. I know we've won the last two, but winning is like money, IS THERE EVER ENOUGH?

I have no idea what it was, but if it is just a week, I think we can assume it was pretty minor. Now, if I am on the team and anywhere from a true freshmen to a senior and I see that coach treats everyone the same and won't hesitate to suspend even a veteran senior all sec type player, then I think that would certainly grab my attention and help make me focus. Plus I think I would certainly respect the man more for putting standards ahead of players and treating everyone the same.

My point was that it was something that isn't a major issue and probably something that is more to send a message to the player and team than something we need to really worry about. That was just the first minor infraction that popped in my head....

This should be a good lesson to every player on the team. Trey is a leader and he is being punished for violating team rules. Everyone else better be on their toes...
