Trump Attacks Iran, II

Donald Trump’s supposed ‘talks’ with Iranian officials were actually with a bunch of patio umbrellas in a White House courtyard, it has emerged.

Security footage shows The President speaking for hours to the umbrellas, urging the outdoor fixtures to “come to the table and make a deal”.

It explains the conflicting accounts about supposed talks between the two nations, which Iran insists have never taken place.

In a media conference later, Trump said the talks had been positive. “I had tremendous talks with the Iranians. Very strong, very positive.

“They were tough negotiators; they don’t give much away. But we’re going to solve this situation very fast in our favour. We’re close to something very big,” he said.

Observers noted a tense moment around three hours into the talks when a light breeze caused one umbrella to rotate slightly. Trump reportedly interpreted the movement as a positive signal, telling nearby patio chairs that “we’re making progress, big progress, they respect strength”.

I am hearing from India this morning that Pakistan has a commitment from Iran to commit to discussions in Pakistan with the US. That Iran insisted that Kushner and Steve Witkoff not be involved and requesting JD Vance as the American representative. Obviously not verfied by multiple sources.

The stock market follows his idiot follies like it's the God's truth.

Iran is now laughing at him, accusing him of negotiating with himself.

Hell, the whole world is laughing at him. But, we aren't supposed to criticize him lest we be accused of name-calling. :D
I highly doubt any Iranian leader is laughing right now about very much. They have shown to have a very low life expectancy recently and until that changes I don't see this to be the case.

I know that we here know far less regarding Iran's capabilities than those making the decisions, and in retrospect, I don't believe we were goaded into anything - I think we knew that Iran was on the verge of being able to hold the world under nuclear threat and decided to take the initiative.

Again, I don't think waiting around is going to work. Despite our best (and worst) efforts they have continued to work towards having weapons that could threaten the entire world, and insane people like that simply cannot be allowed access to those weapons.

I agree this will likely get far worse before it gets better, but I also don't think we had much choice, retrospectively - whether it was 2 weeks or two years from now, they were going to have ICBMs with nuclear warheads.

My question is where is the “red line”. If we mark it as “insane people not having nuclear weapons” then why does North Korea still have nuclear weapons in which they constantly threaten the region with. If it is “terrorists having access to them” then why are we any more comfortable that Pakistan has them with how it allows nearly every Islamic terrorist group safe haven through its borders. I think we treat Iran differently only because they are a more advanced military power that Israel fears in the region . Then we have bad memories of the hostage crisis even though their anger towards American meddling extends far longer. But I digress.

My problem is our whole policy with Iran with Trump seems to be “do the opposite of what Obama did” and “whatever the Israelis say”. I’m no fan of the Iranian regime for both political and personal reasons but I do question why the same issues we have for them having ballistic missiles and nuclear capabilities aren’t asked when it comes to the Israelis. One can make the exact same arguments for them being armed like Israel…. Think about it, they are a religious and racial minority in the region that most of the Arabs have hated for centuries. They have been attacked by Arab nationalists who don’t consider them real Muslims. But out of the two only Israel has made wars designed specifically to take more of their neighbors lands and have created various humanitarian crises by not allowing food or aid into Gaza. So why is Israel special in this regard? The answer is that they are special because the lobbyists in Washington say they are.

I get the hatred towards the Iranians by many, but I think the blind trust and endless excuses that many Americans give Israel is far more alarming. Because in 1990 there were 3 Middle Eastern countries that could check Israeli imperialist expansion. After this war it might only be 1. My question is what happens when the Israelis start complaining about Turkey. My point is more what or who really is running our foreign policy because it is totally bonkers and seems very inconsistent. That for the future is far more of an issue than the present.

I think we treat Iran differently because they don't have them YET.

Past presidents sat on their hands rather than being the bully and stopping these lunatics access to these weapons. Once they have them, it's too late for a hot war unless you want nukes involved.

Just because we've made mistakes in the past doesn't mean it's wise to continue making them. In fact, I'd argue it's beyond stupid to do so.

the key is was there a threat that rose to the level justifies the actions we’re seeing now
The fact that we sat around and let other lunatics develop nukes should be enough evidence that trying to wait on them to see the light isn't going to work.

I'm not sure what the right answer is, but we all now know that Iran had ballistic missile capability to strike most of Europe. If we wait until they have nukes we've waited too long. I'm not a war-hawk - I hate that we're wasting lives and money on this, but if history has shown us anything, it's that left alone, Iran was going to have nukes sooner or later.

It's worth pointing out that eventually the U.S. was going to get sucked into this. If Iran did get those missiles working, who is Europe going to come running to begging for someone to save their asses? If it's not us, I'd love to know who.

Europeans: Why is the USA doing this? No one wants them there.

Also Europeans: Why isn't the USA helping us?

it’s still not a justification for what we are doing

More reality for MAGA to deny. Those who only watch Fox News, like my parents, will never even hear about this corruption.
Nonsense, insider trading has been a big problem on Capitol Hill for a long time now and everyone knows it. Republican Dan Crenshaw got primaried, in part, because his insider trading was about as obvious as a circus clown in a church men's room. Think near-Pelosi type numbers.....

I mean, does anyone believe Pelosi has massively outperformed the S&P and Berkshire Hathaway legally?

If so, I’ve got a bridge to sell you…

Again, folks, all of this "but what about this terrorist group gets nukes" PREACHES real good - but I was assured by Corporal Bone Spurs and his DUI hire defense secretary hat we had OBLITERATED Iran's potential for a nuclear missile less than one year ago.

Was he lying then?
Or is he lying now?
Or was he lying both times?

That's the problem I have with the whole damn thing.

That and his changing the name of the department to war, which no sane person wants.

"Oh, but we can't sit around on our hands until" - gee, I heard that same song and dance routine in Iraq - and at least that guy had an honorable enough Secretary of State sitting behind him to sell it. And I'm hearing this from a guy with a track record second to none at:
a) not having ANY kind of strategy whatsoever
b) shooting his mouth off about whatever enters his tiny brain
c) abandoning his big idea within a few minutes

Is that wall built along the border with Mexico? I'm told it was an emergency along these lines.
Is Canada the 51 state?
Do we own Greenland yet?
Has the SAVE act been passed yet?

And on top of all that, should I assume that our kidnapping the Venezuelan dictator before engaging Iran meant Venezuela was a far greater threat to the US than Iran was? Was Nissan Murano developing nukes?

I'm sorry, but the source HAS TO HAVE CREDIBILITY, and this guy can't even get credit from Visa or Master Card.
