Trump shakes up Pentagon, firing top general, nominating retired three-star
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - President Donald Trump on Friday fired the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Air Force General C.Q. Brown, and announced he would replace five other high level positions in an unprecedented shake-up of U.S. military leadership.

Trump will also replace the head of the U.S. Navy, a position held by Admiral Lisa Franchetti, as well as the air force vice chief of staff and judge advocates general for the Army, Navy and Air Force, the Pentagon said.

Trump did not explain his decision to replace Brown or say whether he would remain in the job until his successor is confirmed by the Senate.

In Trump’s Alternate Reality, Lies and Distortions Drive Change
Condoms for Gaza? Ukraine started the war with Russia? The president’s manipulations of the truth lay the groundwork for radical change.

The United States sent $50 million in condoms to Hamas. Diversity programs caused a plane crash. China controls the Panama Canal. Ukraine started the war with Russia.

Except, no. None of that is true. Not that it stops President Trump. In the first month since he returned to power, he has demonstrated once again a brazen willingness to advance distortions, conspiracy theories and outright lies to justify major policy decisions.

Mr. Trump has long been unfettered by truth when it comes to boasting about his record and tearing down his enemies. But what were dubbed “alternative facts” in his first term have quickly become a whole alternative reality in his second to lay the groundwork for radical change as he moves to aggressively reshape America and the world.



And yet Republicans/conservatives continue, against all evidence, to take him at his word. Not because they really trust him, but because they like what he's doing.

Furthermore, why does it seem that most of the people who insist “Jesus was a socialist” are people who don’t believe in God anyway? That’s been my experience anyhow.

One doesn't have to be a Christian to find value in the moral teachings of Jesus, though I've encountered a number of believers for whom it seemed difficult.

The point is that Christians are called to help people out of the overflowing goodness from their hearts - forcing people to do so is the antithesis of what giving to the needy is about.
